Has any one every used Micro Mark’s mold making silicone? Theirs supposedly has a longer shelf life than Smooth-On plus it has a use by date on each bottle.

I have used MicroMark mold making supplies and have been happy with them. many others seem to like different other brands though. one thing I have learned is to buy some of the canned air that is devoid of oxygen to spray into bottles of two part resin and two part silicone to delay the degeneration. you can find that on the MicroMark site. I am sure it is available elsewhere cheaper too. also, the rubber might not be as durable as other brands.
another thing I want to pass along.
when a mold becomes torn or too worn to use, I chop it up into little pieces to use in future molds as filler to help off set costs.

I have also used the Micro Mark Starter Kit and it worked well but was more expensive than the Smooth On products and did not seem quite as good. Most of that was due to the vast variety of the Smooth On vs MM. I will add that if you keep the Smooth On resin agitated regularly it will have a longer shelf life. I have had the products I am currently using longer than I should have and they still work great. I just shake them up often and don't expose them to air. Have not had any problem with the silicone.

Very good tip Al on using the old molds. I never thought of doing that.
