I'd like to give credit to a friend named Michael goes by Jisp in different forums. Although he isn't the original designer, he is the one who sparked intrested in me to build one. Mine is also alot different from his design, but if he hadn't did a build along I would have never probably tried. I actually built 2 so far. My first idea was for 100 percent working suspension. I was able to pull that off. When complete I learned that the body would need to be heavier in order to get the suspension to work. Well it's already heavy so more weight was not a great idea..... First try

As you can see here the suspension did work...

This version was only 2 wheel drive and would only climb with a running start. It was neat when you drove it. When you gave it throttle it would squat at take off. But that's not what I was after. This one ended up getting sacrificed into monster truck build 2.

After learning it would need more weight in order for everything to move the way I had intended, I went for a more simple design. This design only the front wheels have suspension and only side to side not up and down as a spring movement.

There's a swing arm in back that you will need to route your wiring along

I didn't get many pictures of the building process but wanted to share what I had

I am getting ready to build another one. I'll post up a build along in here when I get started. If intrested in building one things to get you started...
Monster Jam hotwheels truck. Don't tear it apart until we start. The wheels aren't exactly easy to get off.
Can motor. I built mine with a 2.7 ohm... you can hear the power load up and I had to use a lower ohm controller in order to react when pulling the trigger. I feel a 6ohm would be more beneficial to this build and is what I'll be using on the next one.
Gears... few different things can be done. The original design calls for worm gears. I went with wizzard inline brass gearing. 1 =12t pinion 2= 9t pinion and two crown gears. And a tjet idler gear.
Brass... going to need a verity of brass rods that fit in each other and a piece of sheet brass to make your can motor cradle...I got mine at hobby lobby.
Couple short pieces of wire
Pair of old tjet shoes, braid and your soldering set
4 clicker type ink pins of same type for the springs
2 part epoxy to mount body
Imagination....lots of Imagination
If you don't have any of those items this could cost around $80 plus to build for a heads up. If you want Bigfoot you can go ahead and toss in another $20 ha ha. They want alot for that die cast.
Now go out and find your monster jam truck so we can get started.

Very Cool!! I like it, nice engineering thanks for sharing. Back in the day I did some trucks in 1/24th scale for some racers all with rewound 36D's. They were not monster trucks, but built for truck pulls. Again I dig it, very nice!
