Hello Jeff,
It looks like Zooloo363 wants to sign up. They are trying to figure out the site, and signed up on an older thread by mistake.
Zooloo363 said "Jeff signed me up for one in T- jet superStock"
Cheers, Ken

I agree. The brass crown is the "unicorn" we all want to see. I was fortunate to get a couple and have been hanging onto them for a special occasion. I will definitely give you a heads up if I hear of anymore. Been trying to shoehorn a wiz 20T brass crown into my 4GU with the metal gear plate and having to make major mods to make it work. 1st attempt ran but not fast. 4GO would beat it easily. The only other brass crown that I have is happily nested in the unlimited TJet. Didn’t want to tear it up to build the 4GU. Bill I looked at that with the aluminum top plate and it looked to me like the axle would have to be lowered to get the 20t to mesh properly with the cluster. Is that what you are seeing? The easiest way I saw of doing that would be to use bearings and redrill the axle holes. Not exactly sure but I didn't have enough time to get into that now. I'm having trouble with my set up. I keep losing the mesh with the crown. I might be running my set ups. The ideas and innovation is what has always made this Class very interesting.

I've been in contact with the pro track guy. He's really into helping us out. When I told him we Frankenstein these things with axle plates and bearings he was more intrigued. He said the 15t shouldn't be an issue. I think he's trying to make a decision on the center hole for the axle. My opinion was make it a press fit. Go with a smaller hole and we can open the hole as needed. I think in 2 weeks probably less now he'll have a prototype to check out. If it's good to go he'll start making them.i have no idea who's testing the prototype. That sounds pretty awesome! I agree with you on the smaller hole then it can be drilled to the size desired. Thanks Sam!

Ok more news, how would you all feel about a brass 18t crown for the 4gear and a brass 15t for afx/tjet. I don't know the diameter size of the crowns. From what I'm gathering that is easier for him to pull off. I believe he's going to send me one of each to check out. If he does I will post them in a different thread so we're not killing the race thread. I'll check back in after work. It just gets better and better. I know I'm in for a bunch! Anything I/we can do to help just say the word. Thanks again.

You’re absolutely right, there isn’t enough space for the crown. I considered lowering the axle, but tried to shim the brass plate on top of the aluminum plate. That didn’t work out, so I went with a totally set-up. You’ll be surprised when you see it.

Rick your going to loose your spot. Put a crown in aces and let it ride.;-)
I'm not sure what else we can do to help him out Jeff. If he has more questions I'll definitely put them in here. Hopefully we get him intrested enough he may just race with us.

I've tried shimming the top plate before and have never had much luck with that. I'm not done playing with that set up, just not for this race I don't think.

I doubt an 18T crown gear will fit in the 4G case as it is pretty tight. 15T or at most 16T would probably be the max and either would work. If you have seen any of the 20T gears installed in a 4G chassis the rear has to be cut out to fit. Press fit is OK for the AFX etc but the hole must be drilled for the .063 axle + the serrations which brings it to .065. I have bent several axles when using the proper tool trying to put a brass gear on one of the AFX/4G axles when the hole was to small.

I don't know if the 18t will fit either with out modification. Hopefully it will. I originally mentioned a 16t for the 4gear to him. I've chopped up alot of 4gears since I started here. Lovin every minute of it.
