Pete we have all had an experience like that. 26v puts those cars under a lot more stress. A couple of my good 2.5s did not respond well to the extra voltage. Dave I'm sorry you seem to be having trouble with the higher voltage. As I've said earlier in this thread, these are the voltages that we used to run. This was prior to 2014 when you joined. At that time you kind of set the precedent for the 20v standard on a switch. I followed with that for the most part. The high power Colorado tracks......Pike's Peak Dragway and Drag City USA (27v battery w/unlim. amps) and Eagle Racing's Blacktop Raceway were not running races anymore. I was the only one of the early tracks/Racemasters left. We always ran these voltages. 26v for the 4g Unlimited and the Mountain Motor Pro Stock. I do not remember any undue major breakage with the Inline Comp Class. It was the same Class then as it is now. As for 4g Unlimited there is going to be breakage and IMHO any Unlimited Class needs to have enough power and amps to let the Unlimited parts work......otherwise it's like putting a restrictor plate on them. I just don't want there to be a negative air going into the race over voltages being run. I'm not trying to tear people's cars up. This is a throwback to the forum days of old.

I have 0 experience at that voltage before this. Im taking some blame here for the failures. The green arm sounded real good and should have put it in the bag. Not the first time I wrenched myself out. Its going to be fast Jeff.
Thanks for the encouragement Dave. I'll get the right parts and be back

My Inlines survived the 26v and ran well hitting 40+ MPH in some cases. If we can get some 15T brass crowns for the pancakes we will be in business.

After further testing and general "messing" around, I would like to enter 2 Tjets, 2 inlines, 2 four gear unlimited and a PSO car for the shark pool, if I could.
I doubt my inlines or 4g's will be as potent as some of your guys' but, it'll be fun to see what they run lol

I finally got some cars to run Ok. Put me in for 2 T-jet SS 1 inline MM/PS. Unfortunately Purple Haze had a catastrophic failure and will not be there. Had no time to build another chassis. Blue Silk is running great.

Voltage: If I remember right we use to run 18 volts for Pro Mod, 24 volts for Funny Car Unlimited, and 26 volts unlimited for front engine or rear engine dragsters. The reason was to have a little difference in the ETs, and we did. The Mountain Motor in lines were a Colorado class and they had battery power so we ran 26 volts. We also were running a National Series race so the NTRA had everyone running the same voltage. Back in those days we did not flip a switch to launch the cars. Back then we had two racers pulling a race controller trigger and it was unpredictable. Lots of races were won on hole shots. The fastest car did not always win. Some guys got upset cause there driver was taking a nap. It was FUN! Is it FUN NOW? IT IS! Flipping a switch is not a problem, lots of Race Masters can't get the help and have to do it all by themselves.

The brass crown is the "unicorn" we all want to see. I was fortunate to get a couple and have been hanging onto them for a special occasion. I will definitely give you a heads up if I hear of anymore.

The only other brass crown that I have is happily nested in the unlimited TJet. Didn’t want to tear it up to build the 4GU.

I've been in contact with the pro track guy. He's really into helping us out. When I told him we Frankenstein these things with axle plates and bearings he was more intrigued. He said the 15t shouldn't be an issue. I think he's trying to make a decision on the center hole for the axle. My opinion was make it a press fit. Go with a smaller hole and we can open the hole as needed.
I think in 2 weeks probably less now he'll have a prototype to check out. If it's good to go he'll start making them.i have no idea who's testing the prototype.

Ok more news, how would you all feel about a brass 18t crown for the 4gear and a brass 15t for afx/tjet. I don't know the diameter size of the crowns. From what I'm gathering that is easier for him to pull off.
I believe he's going to send me one of each to check out. If he does I will post them in a different thread so we're not killing the race thread. I'll check back in after work.
