Leaving for a week long pool tournament in Vegas tonight. I am NOT a gambler so the one armed bandits will not see a nickel from me. This is a first time for this type of tournament as it is a 5 player team event. Even my daughter in law will be playing on the team as it is handicapped. This event is played on 3.5 x 7 tables which will seem like a postage stamp to me as I normally play on the 4.5 x 9' tables. Previously I only played in the heads up events. Wish me luck, we will need it!!! See you in a week. Dave Home table

Arrived back late last night. Pretty tired from the trip. Turns out we were walking about 6 miles a day according to a walk meter one of our team members had on. From our room to the event center was about a 1/2 mile walk. Team did OK for a first time in that kind of event. We did not know this was a non handicapped event as we had a couple of ladies on our team who can play well but were not strong enough for this field. None of us were used to the table speed which was fast as the humidity is very low in Vegas. Took me a few days to adjust. Equipment was first rate though and these were the smaller 3.5x7' tables. However we managed to finish second which sounds very good but there were only 4 teams entered in our division. The event was poorly managed as they were very disorganized. Seems our division was an after thought that very little thought went into. Overall there were 5000+ players there + there were a couple of Pro player events that were going on at the same time which we all enjoyed. They have small events going on at the same time and I managed to win one of the 2 I played in, prize for that was 100.00. I was in stroke by about the 3rd day we were there, that's when I won, and I wanted to play in more but they needed the tables for the main events. Generally we had a good time despite the poor organization of our event. Here is a shot of one of the rooms with 132 tables. There was another with about the same amount and one smaller one with about 100. 132 pool tables
Vegas temp, quite hot when you are out in the sun but in the shade it's comfortable:
