After i popped the axle out, i was able to push them out from the inside far enough to pull them out with a pair of hemostats.

The magnets on the DR1 are to high to be effective with large diameter rear tires.
Moving them down is the answer. I would allow magnets to be added underneath the originals
rather than cutting the chassis to get the magnet in a better position at my races if you have ones
slim enough to fit. There would still be only 2 traction magnets.
