Mike, Scale engineering Quicker All have rims starting at 340 all the way up to what you are using in .005 increments. I wouldn't run a dremaled rim when you can use a new rim with no structure removed. Getting a true tire gauge would help you also. I used calipers for years and made mistaken measurements. The true tire gauge removed 90% of the mistakes. Ill take a rat that runs like stink over a shelf Queen any day Also Super Tires has all your rim and tire needs. You can go quicker with a smaller tire than a .500 something you are using. Your MPH tells me you have the horse power

I don't use the 4 gear size rim on anything but the 4 gear chassis. There are fitment issues with the other chassis as well as body fitment issues. They also raise the chassis up and create downforce problems. Pete has made some great suggestions above. There are still good looking smaller rims available. Sometimes looks have to be sacrificed for performance.

Fin, This may be of help. I put this together a while ago and a friend of mine sells them on ebay. The tire sizes on the left of the chart are standard super tire sizes. Then you'll see three different rim sizes. Combine the two you get different diameters. Helps take the guessing game out of the equation. Sorry for the thumbnail size.

Fin,
If you like the Jag DR1 rims, they make similar rims for the NC2, TR3 and PR5 that are smaller in diameter. Choices of black, chrome, white or gray. Prices are a reasonable $1.50 per pair. Matching fronts too.
Super Tires AFX .474 and .490 would work well.
As mentioned Quicker rims come in many sizes, which are color coded. I never liked the odd colors so I dye them all black. The double flanges help keep the tires on.

I have to mention that I fitted Mike's DQ'd SS car with smaller rims and tires, (.490), for him and it ran quicker but also lost some MPH. Hated to DQ the TQ but the tires did measure around .530 which was well over.

More downforce going lower.
