Howdy all, here is a little information on my Home built H.O. Dragstrip. The track is two race sets, set up side by side, racing on the two outside lanes to give it a little more realistic look. The racing surface is 16.1 feet, with just over 7 feet of dynamic breaking. Each lane is set up with its own 24 volt, 4.5 amp laptop power supply to provide ample and equal power for each competitor. When racing heads up, a single toggle switch starts the race, eliminating any possibility of an uneven start. Controllers can be hooked up if bracket racing is done instead of heads up racing. I use the free drag race coordinator that measures elapsed time and reaction time for each lane and can be configured for heads up or bracket racing.

Pictures speak a thousand words. We would love to see it if you could post some. Thanks for telling us about your track.

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you have a nice track. Mine is also set up for individual or simultaneous starts, despite starting at the same time, I still get some hole shot wins. Pictures would be nice.

LLoyd at Buckeye AZ HO DragWay will be hosting a T/F Funny Car event Nov 4th thru the 6th. This is his second event...A stock Jag DR-1 (6 ohm) chassis will be the only one allowed. Any (slip on) tires and wheels can be used. Everything else will remain stock....I'll be building a "fresh" car for this race.

These are his rules, from his FB page:
Here are the rules. Stock DR-1 or Narrow DR-1 with everything bone stock with one exception. Any front wheel and rear wheel tire combination will be accepted, but the rear tires must be slip-on tires. I will allow for weights and wheelie bars if the racer is so inclined. I am looking for a 16-car field for this event and looking to get the word out. The race will be held on a single weekend with 2 double qualifying rounds followed by double elimination rounds. The top 8 qualifying cars will be the ones in the elimination rounds. The track is a 4-lane Autoworld track running up to 30 volts and 10 amps @ 16 feet, fully timed with a single controller starting each race. All rounds will be videotaped and eventually hosted on YouTube. The races will also be posted on The Arizona HO Drag Racing group and other pages that will allow the posting. I am setting this up for November 4 thru the 6th so the cars will need to be here at least 2 days prior to the race to allow for setting everything up.

Well my "Snake" made it to the finals (12 car field)...Double elimination...I lost the first round with a 0.593 to a 0.570, switched lanes, and also lost the second round 0.617 to a 0.596. These are stock DR-1's (any wheel and tire), on a 16'1" AFX track...When I get them back, I'll do a little more "tweaking" and try to get a few hundreths of a second more....The White "Fight Cancer" F/C went out earlier than expected.
