While prepping the Jeep for the 4Gear Comp races, it was consistently running in the mid .5 range. After changing motor magnets, cleaning the comm. and brushes, it pulled a solid .4 run. Don’t think it was a timing system glitch, since the car did seem to run faster than usual. Was pretty excited when that happened, but never could get it to do that again.
System is Slot Dragon, so no MPH, 60’, 330’ or 660’ times available for reference.
Questions: What would cause it to all of a sudden gain so much speed?
If it could do that once, why couldn’t I duplicate the run?

Ah the joys of slot cars, finicky things, we have noticed the same as we run every week, now and again a car for no reason will put up a blistering time after some work, but will never repeat it, we use sd2 as a timing system, i have the opinion that the sd2 is a good system but has some internal issues.

I use the dp3000 from trackmate with 60' 660' and mph and what I've noticed is it's all in the 60'. The mph will be right about the same but the E.T. will be off and it's lost in the 60' and carries down track.

It launched pretty hard on that run.

If it was in the first 3 passes, did you strip the car and clean everything again?
1 clean pass then a dirty comm. No idea just thinking.

I like to record the cars leaving the line in slow motion. Sometimes you'll see the shoes coming off the rails. The blue wagon I sent in to JJs race does that sometimes even with the wheelie bar. That could have been a pass that it just happened to not lose contact. Just a thought.

Brings to mind an occasion when preparing for a high voltage race, where I kept getting black spots on the right rail, where the cars launch. Had to clean if off every few runs.
