Hello Dave. After reconsidering, I have decided to allow the A Dash Mondo chassis. You and Ecbill made me realize I was looking at the chassis wrong. I deleted my post initially answering your question. The Mondo chassis is allowed. I have changed the race post to show that. Thank you. ***ATTENTION ATTENTION***
Shortly after I posted the Sign Up sheet I was asked if the Dash Mondo chassis was legal for this race. I initially said no but was told it was comparable to AFX non magna traction so I allowed it. I just realized something and I want to make this clear. NTRA Pancake Stock rules (both 3 gear and 4 gear), which we are using, state 14ohm is the minimum ohm for the armature. The armature for the Mondo is lower than that. The one I have in front of me right now is ohming out at 10.9. That armature would "NOT" be legal for this race. So although the Mondo chassis is allowed, the stock armature would not be legal. I am sorry for any inconvenience but the rules are posted on the Sign Up page. I am running a stock Mondo chassis for the first "Guess the ET" game and was checking the specifications for posting and realized it has a lower ohm armature. Didn’t even think to mention the 10ohm arms. All of mine get yanked since it can’t compete in Stock classes and would not be competitive against 5.5 - 6.0 ohm arms in Super Stock or Comp. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with these 10ohm arms. They just don’t fit neatly into any of our classes. AW, Aurora and Dash Arms will all work in the Mondo gear plate. OS3 arms have a .065 diameter shaft which will be too tight. The arm shaft hole will need to be bored out. The Dash gear plates have tighter tolerances than AW and Aurora. |

I think I kinda knew this too. I mean I have built one of these for PSO. I just didn't think about it at the time. I always seem to miss some small detail and I've been out of the loop on some of the new stuff, so I missed it. I just wanted to make it clear before it's too late. Hopefully everyone knew that already but like I said,,,,I just wanted to make it clear. |

Understood on the Ohm ratings for the classes. I have replaced the arm in my A-dash with an AW arm to be in compliance with the rules. No issues there. My initial question was concerning the chassis itself as I knew that Aurora has AFX non-mag chassis with arms that were too low for the class as well. I was a little torn on which chassis to build as I like the stampings in the AW chassis that make the springs part of the electrical path equation, but I also like the adjustable traction magnets in the Dash chassis. In the end, the A-dash won out for this race once it was approved.

A 10 Ohm arm is the standard arm that comes with a stock Dash Mondo chassis.

Think Dan Cashmer of Dash felt that the Mondos needed a little more power than a 16ohm arm. They tried some 5ohm and 7ohm arms that tended to run too hot. |

MY ET guess is 1.055. I don't have any Mondo chassis but it looks good to me. All my faster AFX cars use the brush spring mechanism that the Dash chassis uses.
