Well this has been a bug for a long time, here in nz we run the sd2 system, great for simple fast racing.
one issue the is becoming more noticeable,
car 1 has a better rt and et
car 2 has a slower rt and et
car 2 is awarded the win.
In most instances it is almost impossible to say who got to the line first by eye sight..
Some of the guys think its because car 2 is faster at the finish line, ie better mph at the finish.
Im not so sure.
To me heads up racing is all about et, who gets there first wins and usually means your et was better than the other car, the only way you can lose if your rt was slow and the other car crossed the line first.
I dont think rt has anything to do with et as et starts when you clear the start beam and stops when you cross the finish line.
rt starts when the light goes green, it can be either - or + depending on whether the car clears the light beam early or late.
So with all that said car 1 was better off the start than car 2 i dont think the time difference matters, car 1 got down the track quicker due to a faster et than car 2, by going faster in time the car must be faster than the opponent over the given distance, the difference in mph at track end i dont think has any relevance to et.
Looking for a definitive answer to this issue. if someone knows the answer to this and is in written form, from a good known source, please post, cheers.

I am not familiar with the sd2. I have a couple of questions.Does the sd2 have a seperate stage and start sensor? Are both cars started of a single switch? I will have to give this some thought?

Been running the Slot Dragon system for several years. While I haven’t noticed that particular glitch, it does have unexplained glitches, on occasions. Things like a remarkably low ET, along the line of .2 sec faster than normal.
SD only has start and finish line sensors.
I believe our friends in NZ race heads up with each racer using a controller.

Yes there is only a start sensor, we drive the cars to the start line to activate the light sensor, so both cars will be sitting at different spots under the lights, depends whether you want a deep or shallow stage. during some more reading the winners time is rt + et, so a car with a rt of 0.010 plus an et of 0.980 = 0.990 race time, the other car has a rt of 0.025 plus an et of 0.992 = 1.017 race time which is slower than the other car by 0.027 race time. The sd2 does not show actual race time. only rt and et. I think if there is a red light the negative is converted to a positive which gives a slower race time. Last week we had possibly 5 occasions where this happened. as we are racing at sandfly this week i will take note of the et and rt and convert them to race time and see what happens.

Definitely a glitch in the system. You can have a better reaction time and beat a quicker ET but not both. I had a Slot Dragon system a long time ago, but did not have that problem.
