I recognize that flamed Gary Densham Pinto flopper sitting on the centerline. Also recognize all the others there too.
Welcome aboard Joe, nice looking bunch of cars.
Is this Joe a.k.a. "Dr. Dragracer"?

Joe, You should have some fun with the 97 Tameless Tiger Firebird and the 63 Tameless Tiger Tempest since about 99% of those bodies are covered in decals. ;D
Just Kidding, the Tameless Tiger cars are not that bad since you can put each side on as one decal, and then one decal for the hood, one for the roof and one for the trunk. (and one for each side of the spoiler on the 97 Firebird Flopper) Given that they are bigger decal panels they don't tend to be as much hassle as trying to put the tiny decals on separately.
I try to lay out the decal sheets so that the cars can be detailed with the fewest number of decals to cut and apply to the body....it may look like the front fender logos, door logos and rear fender logos have to go on as separate pieces, but most kits I make have the decal sheet layed out so you just cut out decals so each side goes on as one decal, vs front fender, door, and rear fender decals. (Note that I said most kits ;D...some still require cutting the sheets into more decals to apply to the car due to space limitations on the paper when laying them out to print.)

Duplicolor rattle cans are what I use on most of the cars I paint. I also use Testors' Model Master's Lacquer paint in factory correct colors from Hobby lobby. I make sure to get the Lacquer in the Testor's b/c I haven't had much luck with getting the Testors Enamel in factory colors to dry well. I have had some that were still a bit tacky two or three days after they were painted.
I have also had the local autoparts store mix me factory correct colors and put it in rattle cans but that is pretty expensive....can be around 20 dollars a can depending on the color. Some of that stuff takes at least 24 hours to fully cure too, but after all it is the same paint to paint a 1:1 car with but it was just mixed and put in a rattle can instead of me having to break out the airbrush and thin the paint myself.

Joe, have you tried the Duplicolor clear coat in the rattle cans? I use that on almost every car I paint and it works well with the decals b/c it is a "cool" clear coat so it won't attack the decals. Just have to be careful and make sure it is compatable with the paint used and doesn't have a reaction with the paint and cause it to wrinkle the paint. (speaking from experience there)
I tried a new type of orange paint ONCE for a Tameless Tiger Tempest and it reacted to the clear coat and caused the paint to wrinkle a bit. I was able to fix most of the paint by polishing the body but I wasn't too happy when I shot the clear and then looked at it a few minutes later and noticed the "crinkle paint" that was under all those tiger stripes.
It all worked out well in the end though b/c it resulted in Jet's son getting his first slot car body, even though at the time the TJET body was as big as his hands.....I think he was about 5 or 6 weeks old at the time. I'm sure Tony broke the Tameless Tiger in while waiting for his son to grow up enough to send it down the track at Mopar Mountain on his own. Guess I'll have to paint a vette pink and make Jet's daughter a Barbie slot car. ;D

I do know one thing when he srays it with 2-- coats and it drys you can shave with that body. That is how shiney it is!!

Joe, I dug around through some files and found a small, closeup pic of one of the Densham G and S transmissions Pinto F/C. I couldn't find any bigger pics of that car tonight, so they must be on my other computer. Not positive, but this may be a pic of the same car that is sitting on the centerline of your track in the second and third picuture of this thread....or did you paint and detail the Pinto Flopper too?

Joe, I have had paint mixed at the local auto parts store and put in a rattle can for me before but it wasn't cheap...a little over 20-25 dollars for one can. (price varies depending on color) I haven't found any duplicolor in orange except the high heat engine paint and it is really touchy when you apply the clear coat. (at least in my experience) I never have been able to find the hugger orange in duplicolor in a rattle can.
The orange paint that I use on the Tameless Tiger cars is a factory GM color called "Hugger Orange" made by Testor's Model Masters. I use the Model Masters LACQUER paint (base/clear) and not the model masters ENAMEL.
I by mine at Hobby Lobby and they sell the Enamel in a bin right next to the LACQUER paint. Make sure to read the labels closely and get the LACQUER. I have had problems with the enamel paint taking several days to dry and sometimes it never seems to fully cure. I have talked to others that tried the Testors enamel and they had the same problem. (others may have luck with the enamel but I have had more bad experiences than good with it so I gave up when I found the Lacquer paint in the same colors) I have never had a problem with the LACQUER paint by model masters. (knock on wood).
