We've all had it happen. Red light on with a .607 reaction time. Red light and green light on at the same time in the same lane. How do you determine at your track what's a re-run and what's a done deal...someone loses with a red light .505 reaction time? First round nobody seems to upset with a re-run. Gets sticky when it happens in the final! The guy in the other lane is going to think he got screwed if he loses the re-run. The guy who got the weird time/light KNOWS he got screwed if he's immediately out. Give us the name of your track and how you handle it. Would be neat if we could come up with some sort of generally accepted standard of conduct for these glitches.

At our track PSD. We have had a few runs where the dial ins were set correctly but they were in different lanes. Usaully my fault while running the computer. A rerun is made unless one of the drivers red lit. If that is the case, then we move on.
If a car sits on the line when the light turns green. The owner must prove that the track was the cause. Other wise tuff luck! I've had it happen to me before and it does suck but it would suck even more for the other driver if I was to beat them in a rerun. That's how we run here.

Thanks Sam. I really liked the way Tim Ranch runs his races. He asks each driver if the dial in in correct and then runs the race. If theres a mistake you have your chance to say so before the tree goes down. Takes the "tower" out of the mistake. Anyone having the problem we are from time to time with a "green" reaction time number but a red light on at the same time? We've had it with both TrakMate Pro and TrakMate 2000. Anybody doing anything else with the "didn't move" start or other timing issues?
