I find it amazing that your Pro Stockers run in the .3s with a $12 motor . Any chance of a shot of one of the bottoms of a car?
Thanks for your time: Iowajeff

Jeff, here is a picture of the chassis. It's a G-plus. The Armature costs $10. They list them as High Power Green wire arms but they are actually red. The Arms ohm at 2.7- 3.0. We're using 8t pinion and 22T crown gears on our 16' track. This is such a fun class. Top of the line parts, if you were to buy them all new costs less than $60. This last Saturday we had 6 enter in MM/PS. The top 4 qualifiers were within .0046 of one another and the whole field was only spread out by .0198. Talk about close racing from 6 different builders. Here is parts list for these chassis. All of these parts are readily available through Lucky Bob's. If you order from Bob's tell him you were referred to him by our site. They are really nice folks and they are fast shippers. www.lucky-bobs-slot-cars.com/index.htmlor phone him at 414-327-4003. I added a separate traction magnet part #. Request ceramic traction magnets. The Super G chassis does not need polymer traction magnets, they have enough down force already. Thanks for the help. I get a lot of things from Luck Bobs, he is fast. Last winter I had to go to Green bay so on the way home I stopped in his shop. Very cool! He was closed, and just working on cars.I told me I came all the way from Iowa to see him lol.So I got a personnel tour. He has about 8 tracks on the main floor, 6 of them HO. In the basement he has a big car track and a 75' drag strip. Last Christmas I was go to get a wizard car for my son and he was out. It was to late to get one so he built me one. Very cool!!! So if you ever get up that way stop in and see him.
thank again: Iowajeff ( how did you hook the shunt to the bell housing?)

I pushed it down in there with a xacto knife.

Wow! I GOTTA build me a few of those cars! ;D Another question since you're in the 'helpful' mode Sam... What are the body mounts? (Part number maybe?) I have several Tyco's and similar type chassis and I gotta mount 'mismatched' bodies..don't wanna use velcro, or double sided tape, or anything like that. Those mounts would work perfect. Ron (Bondo)

Real race cars don't use velcro ;D I made the chassis mounts from styrene tubing that I picked up at our local Hobby Shop. For the body I used square styrene stock that I drilled out for the tubing to fit into it. After the square stock was drilled I capped off one end with a flat piece of styrene so I could bond it to the body without bonding the square stock to the tube and body. Chassis mounts Once the tubing was fitted to the chassis I placed the body side mounts over the chassis mounts. Place a drop of Krazy Glue on the outside of the mount that will be fitted to the body and set your body over the mounts to the ride height that you like. Act quick because the glue sets up fast. Last step is to add JB Weld around the body mount. Body mounts Body fitted over chassis I'll post a better "How To" on this type of body mounting this weekend. I like this mounting set up. It's light and works great.

VERY cool! Thanks, Sam! ;D I get the general idea but a more 'in depth' how to would be GREAT! ;D I would think too, that you might even be able to find tubing and rod to go inside of that already 'drilled'. Probly wouldn't be 'square stock' tho. Just wondering if that would be as strong as square? I take it then Sam, that you just 'spread' the body over the pins to install and remove? (This is probly where the 'how to' would come in handy, rods and square tubes could only be so long, or you would have to spread it open too far, or if too short, body wouldn't hold too well ) Ron

I'm not sure how the round tubing instead of the square tubing would do. I imagine it would be fine. They only reason I used this stuff is because I had it laying around. Mating the round tube together would eliminate the drilling step. I'll have to pick some up the next time I go to the HS.
Your right about spreading the body to fit over the mounts. You don't want to make them too short because the body will come off to easy. Too long and it's a pain in the rear. A little Dremel work will trim them down to size easy enough.
On another note. I Just picked up a package at our mail box from Rapid Richard and Demon340. Kind of scared to open it up to see what they sent ;D

Leave it to Psycho Sam to mate a round hole with a square peg.....ta.da.ta.duh.
Oh... On the funny car mounts, why not use small amounts of Velcro? Make it look like a blower explosion in the lights when the body flys off.
Like when Blazemore ran his own team.

Hey SAM DONT be scared to open the package we sent you. BE VERY SCARED Richards rat rod could be hungry after the trip out there and could ATTACK so I would keep it away from the other rat rods and your pets OH and the beer. Hey Ragu PSYCHO says he likes your willys paint job and it would look good hanging on his wall with his other VICTIMS. I hope you got a warranty with that paint job from SAM you may need it. ;D DEMON 340
