Welcome lab81. One of the reasons I ended up HO racing is because of the lack of tracks to race on. I don't have room for 1/24th scale and anybody can have an HO track now. I don't think there are any tracks in N. Texas that I've heard of yet and there aren't any on hodragraceregistry.com ... sooo... why not build your own? They really are getting cheap to put together. Check out the advertisers on this site and others and become "A Track Owner"! The new tracks are about $150.00. The timing equipment can be put together for easily under $200.00 and track power can be anything from car batteries to 12 to 30 volt power supplies. If you on a tight budget, do it one part at a time. It's fun and you get to set your own rules for once.

Welcome aboard Lab ;D To my knowledge, there isn't anywhere in Texas to do this at the present time. I'm in San Antonio, and until now, I thought I was the ONLY H.O. drag guy IN the state of Texas!! lol I pretty much build them and do the 'proxy' racing, sending it out to other tracks and letting them race them. You'll find info on 'proxy' racing on this message board. I am in the process of building my own scale 1/8 mile track in my spare bedroom, but that is really taking longer than I wanted to. There's an idea for ya, build your own! They really don't take that much room and there are a variety of ways to build it. By far the easiest would be to go to www.slotcarsinc.com and buy one. You could always build one using existing plastic track, or you could make one using mdf board. Look around on this site. There's a LOT of info on tracks with pics too. Look around the site, and have fun! Ron (Bondo) Armadillo Racing and Resins
