Yes . We consider this a 'blueprinting' or tuning move. Spring tension may be played with as well. You just can't radically alter the design, shape and function of the original pick up. Re-arching the pick up is permitted as well.
You didn't ask but, Brush cups are a no no, but the only other requirment is that brushes fit the original mounts. (no Spring brushes either)
