I have a couple of DC Motors Armatures (Dan Cardinale is a great guy to work with.) I also have one of Alan's Stock 25.00 arm as well. Both do great work and are very good to work with. BTW, Dan Cardinale sells lightened gears for 7.50 a set... VERY NICE QUALITY INDEED . In both cases, I did not have to wait for my order... they were mailed out within a few days of my order... of course I am only one order and a GROUP of draggers might take a little more time but Im certain that they can get the job done. RC Lincoln does GREAT arm work at www.dynamicarmatures.com if you have a blue or green that you want balanced and spaced for 12.00. His is machine done and the tolerances are SICK...lol I also found a good source for POLY-JET and NEO-JET magnets if anyone is interested in making a STUPID FAST T-jet. ;D PM me for that info as I will have to dig up the link.

I think this guy is only running one traction magnet and another guy running one traction magnet. The real action starts at 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Sam, I was just kidding around about the 1 traction mag, but I think the slip on tires would be cool. I run my gassers with slip-ons here and they do just fine. I only put the sili-foams on when I send it off. That's just because it's what everyone else has.

could make them a hand full by using the extra large T-jet hot rod rubber tire, drivers would have to pedal to keep from spinning the full Quarter Mile ;D

LOL, It would be fun but I think if we choose to have a event somewhere, that it might be best to use two magnets and at least slip on silicone tires. Otherwise I'd be all for it for a local event.

same chassis as gasser sounds good to me, there are quite a few options in there and most people probably already have what they need except the bodies. What I like most of all is having some flexibility in building different body styles.

I have an idea...don't know if anyone will like it...........
Run altered on the Gasser Chassis this year. Next year graduate it to a chassis of its own. Perhaps that shared chassis concept is a way to introduce any new class. What ya Think?

Hey John I still say the gasser chassis is the one for the Altereds. Why build a chassis that has to be pedled to get down the track. Look at nhra top fuel and funny the pedle races are just a controled crash. I like seeing good side by side races thats what its all about. You know there's the PRO MOD class that was run at the Fall Nationals for guy's who want to spend big bucks and go fast. But that class needs help to get them to run better there are some of us that have Gasser chassis that could out run most of them. The PRO MOD show was not very good but they could be with more testing and info. Could use that chassis in a TOP FUEL CLASS or maybe in AA/FA and use the Gasser chassis in A/FA class. I like your Idea run the Gasser chassis this year and see what kind of show it puts on.
TOM
PS. I Type with two fingers too so you know how long it took me to do this. ;D

Sounds like a plan to me , run it with the gasser chassis then next year see about Modifying further, stronger magnets and store bought 2-3 ohm arms and tying in with top fuel dragsters or funny cars...heck I still have to build a GASSER

Well for what it is worth here is my 2 cents. I think we should run the gasser chassis with just 3 rule changes. 1. You must run slip-on tires only. 2. You can run any gears (Plastic, Brass or Allu.) CNC, light wight what ever you like. 3. Any neo, polymer or rare earth motor magnets you want. Lets leave the hot hand wound arms for a dragster or top fuel class.

I think it would ease some of the stress involved with creating a whole new set of class rules etc.

I have to ask slip on only means you cant use the Delrin/silicone wheels that are sold correct?

Any wheel and yes the slip on silicone tires. They usually cost less than $3 a set.

So far, I like the 'direction' this is going. Looks like I gotta get moving on Altered stuff don't it? lol ;D I do have a few 'masters' that I just might mold...no promises at the moment tho, been moving real 'slow' on stuff lately. Hopefully THAT will change REAL soon! I do have a question tho... when you say a chassis "Of Their Own"..exactly what are we talking here? How many ways ARE there to make a Tjet type chassis? Are we talking a possible 'scratchbuilt' type of chassis or what? I realize that's down the line, and I do like using the same chassis for multiple classes (altho I personally would rather build more of the same type of chassis then interchange bodies all the time, REAL good way to 'strip out' the screw holes!) One other thing..we DO need to consider using the Rat Rods in races more, and using that chassis somewhere else too. So far, there has been one race for those, and the cars are only used in that one class. Now we are talking about using the same chassis for Gasser, BBFC's, AND Altered's?? For cars that HAVE been used in several events already? Or am I missing something here? I know that either way, I'm gonna probly do an Altered or two..also working on a Gasser or two..just that my financial status right now, won't allow me to spend as much as I want to, so those are VERY slow 'projects'. I just would like to see us get more use out of those Rat Rod type chassis and cars, as they are fairly easy to build, and I am tired of mine 'sitting' so much..lol ;D (didn't we talk about a 'Nostalgia PS class? If so, we need to get on THAT too! ) Ron (Bondo) Bondo's Bodywerks
