Fantastic lookin car. How and what did you use to extend the wheel base? Also what is the rear tire height and diameter?

Wow Dave..you got yours a LOT farther than I got mine! ;D Looks GOOD too! Hey Dragfool...he got the bodies from a guy on Ebay. Not sure but I think the guy sold out of them. I have two left here (I think..I actually bought 7 of them..lol). I will try to find the seller's name if you'd like. All they actually are is 'pull back' toys. Just unscrew the chassis and it's ready to rework, or it actually fits some chassis with no mods other than maybe using a 'divorced axle' on the front (I have one I mounted on a Tjet chassis and that's how I did it). The bodies are plastic too. Ron (Bondo)

nosubfor3, the front axle is just some plastic tube I got in a "care package" from one of our members. I had to fix a couple of mounting tabs to the plastic tube so it would fix to the chassis nicely. The rear tires are Aurora Buggy/Hot Rod tires. The tall rears really geared it up and it has some top end. But raising the chassis makes the traction magnets less effective. And the narrow wheel track effects the handling. The car is best suited for straight line stuff! The Impala pull back came from this seller. Yes the bodies are plastic. www.ebay.com/itm/1-x-Chevrolet-Master-deluxe-design-small-Pull-Back-car-toy-length-3inch-/320823940438?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item4ab298d556Ron may be right about being sold out because I haven't seen any listed for a long time. Eagle, got a couple of inline projects coming up. Yes hope to race you guys next year.

SO can you tell who is the manufacture of the car. I'll do a web search to try and find them.

Actually, all it says on the bottom of the chassis is: "1965 CHEVROLET Impala", "USED UNDER LICENSE", and "MADE IN CHINA". This is the exact way the lettering is molded in, including capital letters. So, really think it's gonna be pretty much impossible to track down which one of 1000's of toy companies over there made these. I will say this, even tho it is just a pull back toy car, whoever made this over in China did an unbelievably NICE job of getting the detail accurate! ;D Actually, the one I was working on (and stopped on for now) was being modified to fit on a 4 gear chassis. I am kinda in a dillemma tho...I wanna go nuts and put a wing and a blower on it, but kinda thinking maybe do a 'stock' or close to 'stock' body and cast it too. Whatcha think? Any suggestions? Ron (Bondo)
