It's amazing how AW can do a great job on some past offerings, and miss the boat on some of the new ones. Still like Sam I am glad to see time being spent on HO Drag cars. I am already deciding witch NASCARs will go on FEEbay to clearout displaycase room.

i agree with Hilltop,do some wheel tucking and lowering the body alittle and they will look alot better, juts remember they have to put out alot of cars fast,so some detais might be left out to make production easier. I still cant wait for these,i see the body alittle high off the ground which means it can be salmmed down some.

I think the biggest problem is that the bodies are HO scale. It's time to start thinking a little bigger if we want scale realism for Home Drag Racing using a HO chassis. Auto World has the skill to make some nice Die Cast replicas but when it come to slot cars, I think their hands are tied. Either the chassis/Tires will have to get narrower or the bodies will have to get wider. Speaking of scales. Looks like the Ron Capps headlight/grille are about 1/87the scale . There is a lot of buzz going around the net about these cars and it's great to finally see them but I would of been just fine waiting another year for them to get a few details that they could control right. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with widening the body's. It's alot cheaper to tool up for wider body's than to redesign a narrow chassis. Chassis narrowing is restricted by a number of things.A narrower chassis needs a narrowed crown gear. Also remember the tires will ride on the track rails. So the track rails need to be closer together. If the track rails are closer than the p/u's need to get closer together. Yeah wider body's is much simpler of a fix. After all what are we talking about 1/8" or so??? Just a couple of thoughts.

I can see Trackmate easily selling a bunch of these budget timing systems once guys get hooked on HO Drag Racing and are wanting a little more. I heard their might be a upgrade version of AW's light system later on with R/T's and E/T's. Not sure? If you are already thinking about a upgrade..... This would be a good one: psychoslots.com/index.cgi?board=dtts&action=display&thread=739

Thats correct Sam,I have talked with them over at AW and yes their has been talk for sometime now about a deluxe version as well as a add on,that will do ET,Actual Speed, and Scale Speed and RT Too. Give them some time and iam sure if this does as well as what their are thinking, there could be alot more great HO drag Stuff from them.

One of the most popular drag racing shows on TV right now is PINKS. They don't even have lights.... only a guy dropping his arms. When they interview the drivers, most of them say it's the best time they ever had with their cars. I can only magine it's because it gives them the feel of a old school street race. I can see this being a fun track for heads up racing but not so much for the tuners wanting to see if they have improved their E/T's with changes they made to their cars. If AW comes out with a upgraded timing system, that would be great but they should also look into upgrading the power supply system. Atleast throw in another wall wart and a start track section so each lane can have full power no matter what car takes off first.
We still plan on doing a "How to" on hooking up a cheap timing system once this track does come out for guys that are interested.
