Sam I use O Rings on front wheels all the time, here's a tip, go to Lowes or Home Depot and in the plumbing dept look for #5, O Rings on a plastic case I think I paid a buck something fo 10 pcs, cheaper than getting the indavidual ones at the Hardware store. They also fit the AFX size front ends to.

Thanks, I'll have to check them out. Do you know what size they are? The size I'm using are class legal as far as the front tires still touching the track, could probably go a little bit smaller. Another good place to check out is eletrical surplus stores. Chuck scored about 200 orings for $2. They work perfect on most HO front wheels.
Tire Rules Tires/ Wheels: Tires shall be made of rubber, silicone, or a popular blend, readily available from normal retail outlets. Any wheel and tire not exceeding the dimensions, form and function of RRR part #821 Wheel Tire set (RRR NARROWS) i.e. a maximum tire width of .115" is permitted." Front and rear tire/wheel set may be of differing dimensions. Lo-profile tires are permitted, but tires must be of sufficient diameter so as to contact track when car is in a normal on–track attitude. (local ground rules may allow the near-touching of front tires.) Tires may be bonded to the wheels. Delrin wheels, injection molded wheels and similar aftermarket wheels and tires are permitted if they do not exceed the dimensions of the aforementioned RRR wheel and tires. Specifically prohibited are coated foam tires, and foam tires. Front wheels may not extend in width beyond the fender lip, as measured vertically from the 12 o'clock position on the wheel opening arc.

Here are the things that we've done to our cars along with Jet's tune up tips if anyone is interested. Kim and I are running silver motor brushes that can be found through Jags here on this page www.jaghobbies.com/ho_slot_cars/parts_aurora.htmDon't forget to add brush tension as Jet describes in the tuning guide. BSRT pick up shoes #504 which can be found through Lucky Bob's here www.lucky-bobs-slot-cars.com/bsrt-t-jet.htmlI found these pick up shoes to work best on our cars. And we added lead weight to the front of the cars. I'll take pictures of the weight when I get the cars back. If your running RRR wheels and tires. Try the same size orings I mentioned above on the front. Also as mentioned we took the front RRR tires off the front and put them on the rear. The cars seemed to run better this way and will get your car up to speed quicker, which should help on the 1/8th mile.

I've been building some more chassis and went to larger diameter tires and that helped my et's big time. I used my HP power supply dialed to 13.8 volts and it ran a top speed of 10.147 mph.
Wonder if I should go to smaller diameter tires though??

Was that at the end of the track or 1/2 track? I think my tbolt might need a little taller tire also.
I'm sure we'll see Ford's and Dodge's, I mean cars in the 1.1 range at the Nat's and 8mph. ;D

Dog - car arrived. Thanks! I also owe you funds for the extra shipping costs. I thought I had it nailed down but I'll send you some more dough!
On a second note - my car ran faster today on my track so I'm going to send it back to you in hopes that it will run even faster when it comes back to me... ;-) Then if we can keep mailing it back forth all month it might break the speed of light come race day...

Great that was one sweet running car, I can hardly wait to see the 6 or so fast cars run the heads up race. It must have been the runs, it was so nice we didn't feel the need for Tuneing.
