TR's is probly one of THE best tracks in the country. VERY nice people there, Rick and Paula are cool. They been around a VERY long time too, which is probly one of the reasons it's so nice there. I was only at TR's once, WAYYYY back in the early 90's. Wasn't even the same building then. He's got a MUCH nicer place now. If you do decide to travel a little, take a trip to Bullitt in Louisville, Kentucky. Meatball is real cool, along with his brother Weasel, and a LOT of the guys that race there on a regular basis are cool too. VERY fast strip there, as well as TR's. Actually a lot of the same guys race at both tracks. I used to live in central Illinois, so I raced at a lot of the tracks up that way back then. Bullitt wasn't there then, tho we did have Harmon's, in Indiana (Amish Country, Geneva). To this day, that was the ONLY scale strip with an actual set of bleachers for the crowd to sit on! Yea, ACTUAL bleachers! I made as much cash sittin in those stands making 'sidebets' as I actually did racing! LOL!! ;D Sounds like you got a good setup with the chassis kits, those are good ones. Altho the 'cheap' inline kits from WRP (front and rear pieces) are good too, if you build 'em right. The setup you got is nice, and once it's dialed in, you'll be happy. Just the WRP kits are a lot cheaper in building costs. So if you get up to where you got like 30 or 40 cars built, LOL, and just want a 'bracket basher' to run, the cost will probly play an important issue (and, trust me, you WILL end up with more cars than you ever thought you would...lol..I used to race 25 cars on a 'regular' basis..LOL, and I had 2- 25 car boxes I actually took to the track!) The PSC jigs look good, but the only prob I ever saw with them is that they are limited and can usually only build one type of chassis (don't have one tho, since I don't actually race here, and the cost doesn't justify me gettin one). He does have a fairly affordable 'universal' one tho. I have been using a 'generic universal' jig I got from a funny car racer way back in the late '80's, and it still works well, altho I am in the process of building one made from Corian, I just need to be sure to get the holes drilled exact. Like I said..the closest track to me is 5 hours away, and there's NO way I can get there and back on a Sunday when they race, and still take care of the wife's medical issues (she has a LOT since a year ago) Sux, cause as you can see, I STILL LOVE 1/24 stuff! ;D Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins

bTW..tell Brendon congrats on those lights. That's hard to cut lights like that, especially when you just start out. But I do know from past experience..those kids are KILLER on the lights! I lost many a race to kids under 10!! Ron (Bondo)

Hey guys, Dvan from Bracket500 (link at bottom of home page)and I have been helping each other out with promoting our boards on each others site. He has made us a HO section over on his board so guys could show off their HO cars and post tech stuff. Would you guys be interested in something like that here for 1/24 scale? It might be cool for some of the guys converting over to 1/24 to get some tips from those here that use to race or are currently racing them. Let me know and I can set something up for you.
I have some 1/24 scale drag cars and parts that I'd like to get rid of. I'll get a list together and post.

Your right Wood. We should stay on topic and start new threads for other non topic conversation. Kind of the reason I offered the 1/24 section. After more thought we are all about HO cars here and suggest the 24th scale guys check out Bracket 500, it's the best source for 1/24 scale drag racing info. www.bracket500.com/

I'm sure some others are racing both HO and 1/24. I've made some good friends here OK a few good friends and if they are racing at local tracks it would be cool to have them post how they did. We could also trade tips and tuning info like we do the HO. Sometimes it gets slow here and if we have some racing to talk about thats cool. Right now the only racing we see is our mail away races or Sam posting his track race results. Ok guys put your foot to the wood and post what you think about HO vs. 1/24 because in the end its all about having fun. ;D DEMON

I agree it is all about fun. Nobody says you can't post about 1/24 racing here but this is not the thread to do it in. Deslot would be more appropriate. It's a slow time of year for slot racing and it is slow on all the boards. Why not contribute to HO racing here? You guys have a lot of racing experience and I'm sure some of the newbies would enjoy the tips.
Feel free to use Deslot as a 1/24 hang out if you want but I'd check out Bracket500.com . It's slow there too........ so I'm sure they'd enjoy the 1/24 talk.

Matt, I didn't have time to properly adjust my pick ups. Just for fun can I send an extra car plus $3 ( a dragster ) and get a time so I know how competitive I might have been. I adjusted that one for an ECHO race back in April and it ran decent.

Actually, if anybody wants to send a 3rd car to the t&t, feel free to do so. The Mafia will be glad to thrash them for you. We will send back all the times and info with the cars. We will also post the best time for each car here online. Same price 1-3 cars. The race is still a 2 car limit. Matt

I almost forgot about the tnt this coming weekend. Been REAL busy here, wife is back in the hospital again, so my mind isn't with it. Anyway, cars will be mailed out tomorrow, June 22nd. I'm sending them Priority with confirmation so hopefully they will get there in time. And, I apologize for the 'hijack' of this thread earlier. Wasn't meant that way, actually just got 'carried away'. Ron (Bondo) Lonestar Racing and Resins
