After 15 FAILS I finally have a working 3D printed 18T gear with correct mesh. It was not the 3D printer that failed it was my design. Now comes the hard part, casting it in Bronze....

Here is a pic of the finished 18T Crown Gear. The Auto World stock gear is on the left in black. The new Eagle Racing gear is in the middle in white and on the right is a Wizzard inline plastic gear.

With a slight break in the action from New Zealand, Dave is in bed. It is 17 hours difference in time here in Texas. I thought I would show ya'll another gear project I have been working on. I already do spur gears, but not like this.

Very cool stuff Robert!! Looks like you're getting a handle on this stuff. Could those possibly be my directionals in the background of the crown pic?

This is a new 5 spoke mag I designed using my CAD program. It is for the 4 Gear chassis. If I have a chance today I will 3D print a few sets off for some silly foams. With the race coming up I will be giving away a few sets of our new wheels wrapped with Eagle Racing silly foam.

SUCCESS IS SO SWEET!! This is my first 18T Bronze Crown Gear. How many fails? That goes back to last year. I have lost count. They will not be in any Texas race car for the up coming race. I need to make several more just to start testing.

That is a sweet looking gear........... don't forget to put me on the short list.............. manicure , for the pic ? .........lol........ consider it for pic of finished gear........it would look good on your site. ........ Peter
Yep , just looked again - polished up gear & nail.......... holding gear in fingers presents it in pic........ like , here it is just what you want ........ better than just laying it down on something , IMO.......

Thanks fellows, this is quite a project. I will need to do some testing first before I am ready to sell any. If all goes well you can look for different sizes to be made. I will report on how the testing goes.

Robert your gears are looking awesome your wheels too. Your wheels will be the trick for lowering these cars with out the pain of narrowing the stock wheels. Looks like your getting a handle on that 3D printing. Very cool stuff. Can't wait to try some.

Rick Thanks Rick, 3D printing along with the CAD program allows me to create parts that I could not do a year ago. This is just the beginning of what I have in mind to do.
