Polyimides or maybe even ptfe. Carbon fiber is a good guess to. Are you going to at least let us know if were close. Lol

As each test is completed I will edit the original post. That way it is all in one place to be viewed and hopefully make since out of what I am trying to do.

Did y'all get a chance to check out wild bill's Hey Lewis....I missed this post. I haven't had a chance to get over there, but will be going this week sometime. I will let you know when I do. Like I said....thanks for the heads up on that.

Vespel, torlon, ryton? Lol I dunno. I'm guessing a polymer or plastic substance since your adding dye. Maybe a chassis or gear plate.?

most cetainly a hybrid plastic/nylon substance since the descritption of burning and it not becoming a blob and then severe prolonged heat not altering the shape. who knows might be a carbon fibre polymer concoction. I will be interested to see how it reacts to extreme cold even though that is not usually condition race chassis endure.

Not a bad guess, no plans for extreme cold test.
