Cool Mike, I don't know who invented hydro dipping. It is a very cool process though. Of course the more I do it the better I get at it.

Nice work, your printer does much better detail than mine does. I did not buy an expensive model since I wanted to try it and see what I could do with it. On bigger items it does OK but not so hot on small details. What model is your printer?

One is a Printerbot and the other is a da Vinci Mini by XYZ Printing. The da Vinci Mini is less than $300 and does a excellent job. It is the one I use most now. It is super easy to use. It comes with it's own printing and slicing software. IMHO, the main reason for being so easy to use.The other part of 3D printing is design work I use Autodesk , it is excellent software.

LOL.......cool cats. I was working on a design for a revolutionary 3D printed slot car motor..... ..... So I gave it a test. I printed the piston, connecting rod and wrist pin, but it just came out to big. Dave could you talk to your cats and see if they can figure it out......

Mike, My ancestors came over from Italy 100+ years ago, the family used different versions of the last name, some used Vinci, some Vinch and some Vince, don't know why. I think Vinci was the correct spelling but I never bothered to investigate.
Robert, nice piston, a 3D printed motor sounds cool. I will check with the Cats and see if they will help. They are getting their beauty rest right now so they can't be disturbed.....

One of many scenarios was ,if the name was too long or too hard to pronounce at Ellis Island or other immigrant ports of entry the the immigrant would shorten the name. Or respelled the last name based on their limited knowledge of the English language. A friend had a last name of DeBartole and his parents shortened it to Bartol to simplify things.

Yes if you remember the scene from the Godfather movie where the young Corleone boy is given his last name because that was the town he came from.

Good to see some young racers take an interest. My grandsons raced a little then stopped.
