For Those of You With That Prized Chassis Sitting on The Shelve All Worked Up With Nowhere to go, "This Is For You!"Ok.....this just hit me.....I'm puttin' a challenge out there to all builders. Rules: * Tjet chassis.......copper or silver....14t pinion....15t crown..... * No lower than 5.5 ohm STOCK Aurora arm........ ( red tip/green.....green/green....grean/gold...) * Poly motor mags * Braids.....shunts......any brushes ( wet comm included ) * Body must be secured by 2 ( two ) screw posts ( hard body )..... * Traction mags allowed.......1...or....2...... * Wheelie bars will NOT be LONGER than the chassis....... * Any wheel & tire setup....... * No need for paint......I wanna see how fast you guys can gooooooo!!!! Fastest E.T. ( not mph ) will win one of my custom chassis' ( Tjet, AF/X....or 4gear ) what ever you desire!!! Start buildin'....and send cars to: Jim Sgrignioli 300 w 8th st Lansdale, Pa. 19446 Entries will be recorded and sent back to the owners after competion..... Reaction time don't count.....because I'm lookin' for E.T.'s!!! I've got a WizzTrack w/drag trax timing system......very accurate.......no bull!! None of my builds please!!! This could be fun . . .
Jim, what's the voltage, track length, and rail height?
Thanks! Rick V.

First off...Thanks for posting Cordell!!
Measured 1/64th 1/4 mile is 20' 7.5", rail height is .014", I use two 12 volt batts run in series which adds up to around 25.3 volts. My suggestion is one traction mag only with specified motor/magnet combo. I've found 2 is just too much downforce. You can use any motor mags, but not to exceed the strength of polymers.
Thanks guys!!

Remember Jason, this is NOT an NTRA 'event'. Therefore, those rules do NOT apply, just follow the rules Jim's got posted above. That means the terms "Gasser", or "RatRod" or whatever do not necessarily apply. Basically this an 'all out' "Quickest ET wins' type situation. Nearest I can tell, is the designation on these cars on the east coast HO 'circuit' would be Tjet ProMod's, with a higher resistance arm. Be SURE your chassis is straight and 'true' and the gears are meshed REAL good. Especially if you run Poly mags, as these are some VERY strong mags. My car should be completely finished by this weekend for this 'event'. ;D Ron (Bondo)

Thanks for the advice Ron! What I'm gonna do is build the first car to the ntra gasser rules send it in that way it wont be a shelf queen once the race is over. The reason I'm doing that is the rules in both this race and in the gasser class allow 5.5 ohm arms min. I just so happen to have a arm that tested at 6.1 tonight, I know thats kind of high for a all out class but its my first build I just wanna see how I do. I do have one question, what kinds of wheel and tires does everybody use? All I have laying around are stock tjet 500s from pit kits. I doubt those will hook up in a non box stock drag enviroment.

The type of tires you use would actually depend on what arm is in the car, and how it 'hooks up'. Most cars of this 'type' are better off running a 'silyfoam' tire (silicone coated foam), but again, that depends on how your car hooks up. NTRA Gassers usually hook up better with the sili foams as well. Plus, cost and what you have 'on hand', also dictates what you can run as well..lol. It's all good tho, just build what you can and have fun! After all, as you yourself said "at the end of the day, these are still toy cars!" ;D Ron (Bondo)

Well looks like I have all the parts I need short of the wheelie bars. I think I may have a unique solution for that. Time to get the hands dirty.

No more 'thrashin' necessary here! The guys here at Lonestar Racing (and resins..lol) actually have the car as 'done' as it can be. Woulda liked to do 2 cars, but due to 'financial setbacks', along with the fact that all the guys here have decided that it's the week thay ALL want their 'vacations', only gonna send one ;D Working on gettin some pics as we speak! Hopefully by later today, along with pics in my other thread with some new resin bodies that are available, and some of the 'coming soon' casts as well! Yep, gonna be a blast! ;D Ron (Bondo)

PC I'm pretty sure thats OK. About the only restrictions I see are a T-Jet chassis, 5.5 OHM stock arm, nothing stronger than poly mags and two screws to hold the body on. Get after it!!!!

Yep, lightening is ok. There are no weight restrictions of any kind either. (as long as it's a plastic or resin body, no lexans or styrene vac formed..lol) You can also run any gears, as long as it's a 14t pinion and a 15t crown gear. Even the "Tri Lites" are legal. Basically, as I said, it's a "Poly Jet" with a higher resistance arm. Ron (Bondo)

Hows everybody coming along? I had to scrap my wheelie bar idea, too heavy and too big. I'll post up what I had going on in the tech section here after the race. Maybe somebody else might be able to refine it or look at it a different way. I plan on sending my little yellow willys on its maiden voyage down my autoworld strip later tonight.
