ninja my vette is a JL plain no carbs let me know thanks mac Reviewing photos from the first race, there is shown a vette like you describe. Looks like they did survive the cut. Based on this photo I'd say they are legal.

Hey Matt, was thinking of besides eliminations. In no way meant to leave them out of that. Thought something aside from that just for them could be done.
Sorry couldn't get back before now .............. Peter

Forgive me, there doesn't seem to be a test and tune and I know I saw the different rail heights of a few tracks listed. My question is which type of track is this one most like Tyco, Tomy, Lifelike etc,,,,,,?

Forgive me, there doesn't seem to be a test and tune and I know I saw the different rail heights of a few track listed. My question which type of track is this one most like Tyco, Tomy, Lifelike etc,,,,,,? For this event there is no T&T, tune your cars as best you can and send them in. Here are the specs for Desert Run Raceway: Specs for all 2012 host tracks are in the Race Guide. www.ninjatekprojects.com/PDF/NTRAraceguide.pdf

My thoughtd back on some of the bodies you guys were discussing is side pipe, and small hood scoops that were available when you bought the car or see it in thestreet, should be ok in my mind, sidepipes are on street muscle cars and like ram air scoops these are all street legal items on a muscle car.as long as it doesnt have like wheelie bars, big pro stock hood scoops ae big wings off the body.i think it should be ok.and not get too picky.just my two cents

I was hoping someone was going to jump on the body issue. wheelie bars and pro-stock scoops no but have any of you seen a 55 chevy with two fours on a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood? camaro, chevelle the same way.not everyone drives their grandfathers station wagon. again just my 2 cents. do not want to start an argument in any way thanks.

This could end up getting very interesting! I will date myself by saying back in 1965 I ran a 55 Chevy 210 on the street. Power was a warmed over 409 with dual quads sitting on a ram intake and a home made removable scoop to shield the carbs in case I got caught in the rain. On the other hand, where I lived back then, slicks were not legal and if caught the police would scrape your inspection sticker on the spot and call a tow truck!
So should we allow slicks for this race?
I am new to NTRA and won't be racing until the Nov meet so pay no real mind to me but it does raise some questions!

Would like a ruling on the '55 Chevy with a "SMALL" hood scoop and side pipes. Or, ANY car for that matter as long as it doesn't have wheelie bars and a dolphin ( Pro Stock ) scoop on, or "wing" on the back it. Need to know so I can finish up my cars. I still need to be put on the list, but need to know if they will be legal or not. Thanks,

OK, my 2 cents worth. With all the talk of carbs sticking through the hood, ram air manifolds, header pipes and such. Heck, we even ran super chargers, and G60-14 Indy profile tires. The thing is, none of that was Stock, coming from the factory. What you all are talking about sounds more like the Gasser class. My interpretation of the listed rules, sound more like a stock build. It says the body must be a FACTORY STREET type. As has been stated, this class is set the way it is, to allow for new members to get their feet wet. And that's a good thing. Anyway, that's my nickle. You guy's can hash it out. I'll side with the all powerful Ninja, what ever the call. Keith

Agree - what ever Ninja decides!
I may have taken things differently. To me "KING OF THE STREET" is what you would see running on the street and back in my days you saw most anything.
Somewhere back in some of the postings the word "FACTORY" was brought into play.
So my question was to myself: Is race based on what you would see on the street or what you saw running on the street from the factory?
What ever the results are good luck to all that enter!

Hello from Desert Run Raceway With the King of the Streets Race less than 2 weeks away, the crew at Desert Run Raceway is putting the finishing touches onto the track. Desert Run Raceway hosted a local bracket race a couple months back with 23 entries. All the racers had a great time and a fantastic race. Looking forward to the King of the Streets Race on August 18th and 19th. We have very qualified proxy drivers that are veterans of the 1/24th scale drag racing world. They are itching to pull the trigger on these hot HO Drag demons! A couple of the local racers decided to do a little early test and tuning of their nostalgia funny cars. So the camera crew had some fun. Stay tuned for more news and info. Your Race Master, Dragfool. [imghttp://x.co/mdsP][/img]
