Doug I am going to make a vested effort to get at least 1 car built for your Halloween event. I have a lot of things happening at the moment, so time is tight. I was really looking forward to the King of the Streets race and building a Pro Street Xtraction, but since it was cancelled, I missed out. I bought new cars just for that race. So I am hopefully going to do one up extra special for your race. We will see how it goes. Keep up the good work man and post your progress with the track and your cars. Not enough pics being shown these days of cars and builds going on.

Just finished my new Doorslammer chassis,I think this is my first successful AW chassis build outside of stock 4gear. Tom I know a lot of people don't like the AW stuff, but I have been having some success with them. The AFX chassis is hands down the better of the two no matter what chassis it is. I actually just bought some AFX specialty chassis and gear plates. I am going to change one of the F.E.D.'s over to that and see how it does. I have had some "accidental" success with taking some of the slop out of the rear axle on the AW 4g with super glue. I read somewhere of someone doing that, but I was gluing some rims on once and accidentally got glue around the axle holes. It was an "Oh sh@#" moment. But I kept working the axle and it actually tightened up the slop really nice and still turned freely. Some tricks kind of fall in your lap sometimes. If done carefully, it works out pretty well. FYI......my track is going to run .15 to .18 faster than the times at Blacktop so keep that in mind when tuning. I compared times this last race and through every class that was the approx. difference consistently. Look forward to seeing your builds as always.

Jeff I just did a complete overhaul on my Nova chassis and it too seems pretty sweet.I don't know if you remember it but it has the Storm 20t crown gear (only because of the tire size)and it's an Aurora chassis with a AW top plate and gears.Haha it's my Frankenstein chassis. As for axle slop I have a press for peening the holes. How it works is it pushes material from the edges of the hole into it's central direction. The press also does a lot of other things, pancake chassis related but it is not a cheap tool.Goes for around $70.00

New Trakmate timing system has been tested on track and is now up and running. I had compatibility issues with the first laptop I got, so I had to order another one. I always have to learn the hard way it seems. I just need to route some of the cabling and that project is complete. Will be removing the other timing system and a few other things this weekend. Finish up track preparation for the October race.

Welcome Amy. Glad to have you as a member on the forum. Classes are Street, Pro Street, and Doorslammer. Kiwidave has posted the links for the rules for Street and Pro Street above and this is the link for Doorslammer www.nitroslots.com/index.cgi?board=rmtn&action=display&thread=2293. Rules can be found at the top of the page in the Directory ( next to Archives bar ) and there is now a special thread in the works that will have all the rules as well. Street classes are running at 13.8v and Doorslammer will be at 18v. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
