Sounds excellent Doug! I appreciate the pics...we are not seeing enough pictures on the forum these days. I am fighting some dealines as well for track innovations and car builds. I hope to have enough time to get them all done. Either way I will be ready for the race. All the stuff I'm doing to the track is just fuu fuu stuff like I said before. Man I got to tell you....my new timing system is flawless. No problems whatsoever!! I know you are like me and work on a tight budget, but keep that in mind for the future. I know the trouble you have had with your current one. Good luck with the rest of your preparations and look forward to seeing your cars as always.

Some quick track facts for those of you who may be interested. If anyone is referencing past e.t.'s at Bear Creek, I am finding that the Trakmate timing system e.t.'s are slower than the Slot Dragon. I have no way of determining the exact difference....I would have to run them side by side and the Slot Dragon has been removed. I would estimate difference is between .05 - .07. The reason for the difference is in the way each of the timing systems initiates the starting of the timer. FYI for those like me who reference past race times. Also, due to that timing difference, all track records will be up for grabs.

Bear Creek Dragway is now completely ready for the "Battle for the Crown". Functionally it's been ready for awhile, but I just finished setting up grandstands, billboards, etc. Here are a few pics of some of the upgrades and the track in race ready form. The timing system has made a huge improvement on the track. I am excited and looking forward to the race. 10 DAYS AWAY!![
A little more grandstand and detail work back toward the start line. The back board is just for pictures. Drivers stations are on each side of the track.
This is the biggest addition / improvement to the track. The Trackmate timing system and IBM laptop , timing table, and tech table. These were just some roll around tables I found that adapted well to the track.
Moved a grandstand to the end of the track and added a windmill. Bear Creek is now an official grass roots Texas dragstrip.

Thank you Dave and Doug. Yes the added work has definitely paid off. Track performance is solid. Doug that's the kind of home decor that I like and I feel your pain with the dust. My track being located in the garage I have the same issue. But the track has a dedicated vacuum cleaner that stays right underneath, so it's not too bad. Thanks again for the good word.

Looking good, Jeff. Nice touch with the lighting.
Things are shaping up to be a great event. Newbie, the return of a couple of semi-retired, and the usual threats. Nice mix, sure to produce an upset or two. Looking forward to it.

Thanks ninja...I took a page out of the kiwidave book of track building on the lighting. I am pleased at the race turnout, but I was hoping for maybe one more newbie and maybe another past veteran. I did hopefully get nosubfor3 to enter in the finals with my Chevy bashing.....lol. So some good did come from it. What is really nice is the (3) ACTIVE race banners at the top of the page......all at once. Never seen that before. Thanks for your race promos too. Good luck in the race.

Finished my ride for the Halloween "Curse of the Hearse" race. This was one of my first real builds I did for the 2012 Spring Nationals. I tore it completely down and stripped the paint off. Total rebuild. I didn't have a hearse or an altered that I wanted to use for this build. Doug said something about people in the south hauling their dead in a pick up truck.....and the rest is history. This is the "Hillbilly Hearse". That is supposed to be just the top of the pine box in the back. Hard to take pics of a totally black car.....no contrast.
