Hey JJ - that 20T brass looks good! I just had a bunch made up but mine already have the hole in the middle and they have been dynamically balanced too. Been putting a few hours in the lab! Al @ MGDS

Nice, my mouth is watering. Guessing, but nice clean looking straight cut. Can even use plastic for drill guide. Gotta know how you cut it if right. And how to get some. When the time is right !

Just hit me, are the small idler and top cluster the same ? Different size holes gives you both gears. Wow........all brass posibilities !

Al @ MGDS Thanks Al.....No dynamic balancing here. This is the first rough cut. I don't have the money or the means for any of that. Therefore I have to make do. This was a custom order, but requires my finishing touches. I am doing all the cutting, drilling, lightening, etc. No access to lathe or special tooling. Just have to go slow and make sure everything is just right. This is going to work out great and I am still working out the small details. Got any pics of yours? I would like to see them. Does this mean you are planning on racing more this year? Jeff

Just hit me last night how I'm going to beef up the cluster rivet area. Very simple and straight forward. I don't see any problems with the design. We will see once I start testing. Still a little ways away. I still have other builds to start on (tjet Gasser, etc.) that I don't want to get in the way of. Plenty of time for this one. There may be simpler ways to go about this, but right now this is all I know how to do. Thanks for the interest and I will post progress, etc. Jeff

Hey Jeff, Eeeeeasyist way of getting ride of the wobble is cluster on. shaft. When I saw Sams, idea on using the 9t to hold plastic gear. I just made strap with bushing that fastens under screw, that which holds large idler. Goes straight back and holds top of cluster shaft. Very simple and it works. Even though I've not put the power to it yet, as others have. I don't foresee any problems because the gears are butter smooth now. When I was putting this together (and taking it apart). I thoght of another strap or clip that should work. Just haven't gotten to it yet. But a plate clip with bushing or bearing over cluster would do the same thing. A 4g clip could be re-shaped or one just made. And attach the same way as the stock clip by having chassis notched. Heating a small flat bladed screw driver and pushing into chassis on each side should yield rectangular holes like used by AW for clip to snap into. Seems almost to simple, but going to try when I get back to that chassis. Sam's cluster, is what did the trick. If the cluster was all brass and solderd.............w-oow. You and Sam, should get the cluster pattented.........be your agent for ten percent........lol. ..............good luck with the rest, Peter

Will post up some pictures when the entire upper gear train is complete. Having all 3 and 4 gears reworked including the center gear having a ball bearing. I know its not stock and doubt it will be allowed but I like the challenge.
Total experiment on my part but lucky to contact that manages a very large machine shop that has CNC machines as big as rooms.
I will update as things progress.
Yes - now that things have settled down with the passing of Mom I will be back into it. Have race scheduled for Aug.

Doug......We dropped the 3rd class so we could focus on Bracket more and add a little more coverage, etc. Match races aren't bad. They go pretty quick and breaks up the race with a little rivalry action. OH..........got a box of latex gloves next to the track for handling Herpie.
