I am looking forward to racing the Top Fuel and N/TF. I missed the last N/TF race at the Summer Nationals. I do not plan to miss this one.

Hey Jeff , Sorry for delay......... Yes, we did speak by PM. Guess I should elaborate for all..... After discussing rules, and timing issues on forum. Had discussion (pm's) with another member that mentioned cost in regards to MM/PS. Others also had beforehand.
Had seen a listing on Lucky Bob's site for DBR (near top of page). Broke down and got one...... silver elec, matched mags, 3.5 ohm arm, urethane tires..... $33.-........ Seems fast, definitely faster than anything I've gotten for the same amount before. Hence the though of using it for MM/PS.
Thought it best to compare with a top runner in MM , that is why I asked, Jeff for match race with his MM. A more accurate idea of possibilities that might exist. Braids, shunts, gears, will make DBR faster. Comes with 7/24 gesrs. If car is quick enough, could be cost effective way of building MM/PS.
Also, recently found ceramic grade poly mags for Tyco's and would like to run this set-up with a MM/PS. Will set-up Tyco as MM. Going to leave DBR as is for out of the gate comparison to other chassis also.

ATTENTION ALL COMPETITORS.........Another pre sign up reminder that the clock is ticking down to the start of the Labor Day Nationals. This is going to be a great event so get your cars prepared now. Street, Top Fuel, and Nostalgia Top Fuel are the classes and they have all been highly competitive each time they have previously run this year. We are looking to see more of the same for this race. Track crews are busy with preparations....so you can count on the track being in top condition. Track records are always up for grabs and match races will be in play. SOOOOOO.........LET'S GET IT ON!!! It all goes down September 5th and 6th ( that's less than a month away ).

Hey All, Sign-up should be out soon. I asked Jeff , for a match race with his MM/PS...... recently pick-up "DBR" chassis from Lucky Bob's........ seems fast and all the parts you need are included in price. Only extra would be for gears & braids. Would be nice to have 3 MM/PS for the price of 1 right now. And maybe sway some fence sitters into the mayhem.
I also have 2 Tyco's both with level 4 ceramic grade poly mags. One of which has timing advanced on arm. Would like to run these also and get comparison of all three chassis.
We were going to have different MM set-ups tested earlier this year. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances this did not happen. Was hoping to get some testing done and comparisons made.
So anybody with a new MM/PS build or old with some new tweaks out there that wants to beat-up some poor old Tyco's........ GAME IS ON ! ! We just need the players.

Peter Peter just wanted to make sure you knew that you and I are the first Match race on the list. I know Doug said he has a SG+ that's looking for someone to beat up on too. I do have my Camaro MM/PS in the box also, but will wait to see if there are any other takers first. I too am anxious to see how the DBR runs. It sounds like it could be a solid chassis. Waiting with anticipation.

Doug412, if your SG+ is a 6ohm motor I will race you with my Drag Bike. If it is faster then I will race you with my #2 MM/PS it's just a little ole patriot I threw together. Just for races like this.

I have torn into both F.E.D.'s now and found no broken parts. So the gear plates are working....it was set up that failed. I ran short on time for the last race and did not get my gear mesh set right. The #2 blue/white car that wrecked in the video had very loose horizontal cluster to crown gear mesh (just shimmed the crown to correct) and the other #1 org/wht car was the vertical mesh that was off. It was only catching the very top of the lower cluster gear. Both were my errors not parts failure. Going to have to redo the top plate on the #1 car. I used an AFX top plate, but after grinding down plastic so the brass plate is level with the top of the plate, it is too low and does not allow for proper mesh. The AW top plate geometry is slightly different so this is not a problem. Should have these issues worked out by race time. Got a hot motor that I have not been able to wake up yet and I believe this was the problem. Pretty amazing the wear patterns on these metal gears I am seeing from these little cars.

Went to the outlaw fuel altered nationals yesterday here in Iowa at Eddyville Raceway along with gassers. Best darn show since I have been going to them. Came home late last night, had a rain delay in qualifying. Best Q.T. was 4.02 at 184 m.h. and this is an eighth mile track.

Loved to watch them back in the late 60s and 70s. Got to drive a Blown Alcohol Altered in Pro Comp in the late 70s. Ran 6.80s 205 mph (1/4 mile) Mike Byod drives the re created Winged Express and does a heck of a job. I get goose bumps watching that car. Long Live AA/FA's Rick

Yep it was fun, except for waiting in the trailer all day. Rain held everyone up til 6 Saturday night. Sunday waz a whole different story! Wheel stand at the starting line, the 60 ft, the 330, a couple carried them almost all the way! Typical Fuel Altereds, every which way but straight. The best time was a 3.84 and top speed was 198, considering the air and the new surface, they weren't that far off. They're my favorites too, ever since I got to help out the MOB when I lived out west.

The black one I think it was a couple of cars after the one you helped on. My brother got to make a couple squirts (1/2 passes) in it last year. Larry the owner has a driver for it now and is going to try and run it at the California Hot Rod Reunion in October. Rick
