Track project is running behind what I had scheduled but I figured that might happen. No worries....as long as I can test in about a week. Track appearance doesn't look much different than the last pics, but there has been a lot of work completed. Each track section has been secured, track wiring has been completed and all connections soldered, power taps were added at the traps, track side extensions and barrier wall were added and secured, misc. painting, and timing system is ready to go. Next will be new overhead lighting and sensor lighting, track striping and detailing. This track is flatter, straighter, and smoother than ever .
I will be adding another row of led lights on the other side of the track opposite the existing ones.
These are the power taps that I added. Looks ugly in the pic, but they actually came out pretty good. Solid connections. I used some hot glue to give the wire and solder joint support. Had to expose more of the rail and laid track on wet paper towel when applying heat. Anxious to test and see if it makes a noticeable difference.

New project just hit the garage. Eagle Racing's Pro Stock bike just got here today. I've got to get these other bodies completed so I can get started on it. Ordered and received my Patriot 3 Extreme rolling chassis a couple of weeks ago. Needs to be up and running by Jan. 16. Oh yea!!

Track looks good. Like the idea of the led lights for the aesthetics. I found that the extra power feeds helped performance slightly on my track. On the faster cars 2-5 hundredths, on the slower ones not much difference.

Finished up a few projects so I can get started on the bike. Had some trouble again with my decals. I haven't been sealing them good enough in the past. Going to throw out all that I have and start over now that I know what I'm doing wrong. Clear didn't flow out very well for some reason either....always something.

These are the cars that will be entered in the Texas HO Drag Racing Assoc (THODRA) inaugural race on Jan. 16, 2015. Left to right (2) Doorslammers, (2) MM/PS, and (2) Top Fuel. Cars in front were potential Bracket cars, but we have decided to go with inline only any build for our Bracket class in 2015. My MM/PS cars will do double duty for this race. Bike still has to get some color put on it, but the chassis is built. First time working with the Patriot and I must say it is a very nice platform. Easy to work on and tune. There will only be 2 inline chassis on my desk for a long while....G3 and Wizzard Patriot. No reason to have anything else. Only 2 of these cars are relatively new. The rest have been running in NTRA proxy events for awhile. New builds are in the works. Hope to have new bodies on everything by mid season. Looking forward to our first race at Blacktop!! A couple of potential new racers/members may be at the event. We will try and get them hooked up in the Bracket class.

This is Angry Jeff Racing's version of the Eagle Racing Pro Stock drag bike. All lacquer and clear paint on this one and I think that is what I will be using more of from now on. Very happy with the results. Still need to work on my decals. Will be making a few test runs tomorrow before club race Friday.

Thanks Eagle and Phantom. Tom I used Duplicolor lacquer clear from Oreillys Auto Parts. I sprayed it into a bottle and airbrushed it on. Really flowed out the way it is supposed to.

The Texas HO Drag Racing Association first club race is in the books and was a success. We had 24 cars/bikes entered between 3 racers....that is AWESOME!! The competition was fierce in all classes, but the wins were spread out pretty evenly. We would like to welcome Amy (aka Escamilla Chicks). She came in here and schooled us on the tree. We were all a little lazy on the lights but she was best of the day for sure. Good Job and hope you will be back for more!! Like I said before, this was a blast and I am already looking forward to the next race. That would be tentatively April 17 or 18 at Bear Creek Dragway. We will nail down the exact date in the next week or so. We should have been doing this a long time ago. Great job Robert and Amy. Robert thank you for the hospitality. All race times and results have been posted on 1320 Slots 1320slots.boards.net/thread/78/race-1-blacktop-16-2015.Race day class winners right to left: - Doorslammer Jeff Biscayne (4g) - Top Fuel Amy GIECO dragster (4g) - PS Bike Eagle Blue bike (P3) - MM/PS Eagle Neon silver (G3) - Bracket Jeff Camaro (G3)

2015 Bear Creek Dragway is ready. I am using temporary sensor lighting currently while I finish up some IR emitters that I'm working on. I built a prototype light bar and it worked, but was too weak. I have some stronger emitters now. New track general flourescent lighting has been installed to brighten things up. Plenty of light splash for other projects in the garage. I will update how the IR emitters work out. We are ready for the first race to be run on the new Bear Creek Dragway in March. I will be testing track and cars for the remainder of the week.
New overhead lighting.
New start line and Grandstand view. Foam board is just for some pics. Both sides of track are open during events.
Downtrack and IR emitter project. A gantry similar to the one's I built for Blacktop Raceway will house the emitter bar.
