I have several projects in the works on the desk now. Some are for the Summer Nationals and others are just for myself. One that I am looking forward to finishing is the 64 Galaxy 500 Pro Mod that I've been working on and off on. The casting for this car was pretty rough but I was still happy to receive it because it is another unique car........and it is a Ford. Almost have the car ready for paint, just a little more bodywork and block sanding. I am going to do stages of the build postings on this one to show all the work that goes into this and maybe it will be helpful to some. If I can do this stuff, anyone can. Also have another wedge dragster working and a Chevy C10 Pro Mod truck. Not sure on the paint for any of these yet. Focus is on the upcoming race though.

Fired up the track for a little baseline Super Stock and Gasser tuning. I am really looking forward to this race!! I don't get the opportunity to build any Tjets very often. Only had one Gasser from a previous race. The other three are totally new builds. Just doing a little pre tuning to get a solid baseline number and I will tweak it from there. Still need to get my Econo dragster(s) built. These are my two Stock class cars that have run before with new chassis underneath for Super Stock. I love that Fairlane body. Haven't had it very long.I have run the Sister Sister car before, but it was not very competitive. Hopefully that will change for this race. It is a Hairy Canary AWB Nova....1966 I think. The red Nova is a new body that I have never raced. I received it as a gift after last years race at Thunder Road. I believe it is an Al Pink casting?? Did I say that I am looking forward to this race?

THODRA race #3 is tomorrow bright and early at Blacktop Raceway. Last minute tuning and a quick rebuild on a Doorslammer and I should be ready. Will be firing up Bear Creek for some pre race runs this evening. I had a lot of errors at race #2 and Eagle ran away with it. I hope to change that this time. It's a lot of fun either way. Then it's back to tuning for Thunder Road. Lots of racing coming up.....oh yea!!!

THODRA Race #3 went down today at Blacktop Raceway and I have to say it was hands down the best race of the series so far!! Competition was fierce...all cars were running close. Eagle still has the dominant car in MM/PS and JJ in Doorslammer.....but the field is getting closer. We as drivers were on the tree today which is always good (especially after all of the red I saw last race). We also ran a match race with a new inline class that was run for the first time at the NTRA Summer Nationals this year. Will also be updating series points standings before race #4....which is the last race for the year. Race #4 will be sometime in late October or early November at Bear Creek Dragway. Thanks to Robert aka Eagle Racing for hosting the race and lunch at Country Burger was good as always....lol! Looking forward to the next race already. What a great hobby this is!! Everybody should be doing it. Anyway......here are a few pictures of the class entries. The days winners for each class are shown in front of the rest of the field. There were 18 cars and 2 bikes total for race entries today between the two of us. Good group of cars.
Top Fuel Class. Winner JJ's TJ's Body Shop wedge .593et @ 26v Final.
Doorslammer Class. Winner JJ's Spellbound Chevy Biscayne .738et @ 18v Final.
MM/PS Class. Winner Eagle Racing's Dodge Neon .434et @ 26v Final.
Bracket Class. Winner JJ's Ford Pantera .607et @ 22v Final.
Pro Stock Motorcycle Match Race. Winner Eagle Racing's blue motorcycle best .605et @ 22v.
M/FC Match Race / Exhibition. Winner Eagle Racing's Wounded Warrior Mopar best .426et @ 26v.

looked like you guys had a great time while the rest of us were at work . I'm pretty excited about the MF/C class. I bought some parts so I could build a few more.

I am excited about the M/FC class as well and having fun going fast. This is the car that I ran in the NTRA Summer Nationals and at our club Race #3 as an Exhibition Class. It is built on the NTRA inline N3 build guidelines. My car is a BSRT 906 car with a few modifications. I did not have the parts stock or chassis to build a car from scratch, so I bought the pre built car to work with (it was cheaper to do that also). I took the car apart and did a little work around the bushings, added braids, .490 silly foam tires, Pacific Slots wheelie wheels for fronts, and axle extension. I did not mess with the 7t/23t gearing, no shunts, BSRT 140 armature, end bell is gold pre tweaked and I left it alone too. I am still learning the car and have several things that I still want to try in the motor, gearing, and magnet area. This is the fastest car that I have ever built so far. Currently runs consistent .380 - .390et @ 26v on sectioned track.

Looks like Eagle has Jimmy Prock tuning his Wounded Warrior MF/C, That team has been annihilating the competition and records since starting the "Western swing". Hopefully they can back up the run yesterday to set yet another record in F/C and if he gets a win today he will have swept all three in the West. Sorry to get off topic JJ, just seemed fitting with Eagles recent win.

That's not off topic to me. I watch/record every NHRA event so I can go back and watch them again in the off season. Jimmy Prock is doing amazing things and I'm sure John Force is hating every minute of it. I've always liked Beckman and I know he's struggled the past few seasons, so I'm happy for him. As for Eagle's win.......we ran the Match races last and he was lighting up the tree for those last couple of races. He did what he had to do! I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. Racing was close.

Here is another build out of the AJR Garage. This is a Hairy Canary 1970 Camaro Pro Mod. Rick's bodies are always soooooo clean! This one took very little prep before painting which I enjoyed after all the work that went into the Galaxy. Randy and Sam....I tried some of the tips that you gave me on sealing each color with clear and clearing before decals. Worked out awesome. This is also the first car that I have used lacquer fingernail polish on. I'm sold on the polish. Once I got it thinned properly it sprayed and covered beautifully. Gonna feel weird shopping for polish . Anyway....needed to get this one off the desk. This car was kind of an experiment so I'm ready to move on to a couple that I've been wanting to do for awhile. Now it's time to finsh tuning the cars for Alpink's Thunder Road Labor Day Eliminations!! OH YEA!!
