Love that Willys... OPI, you been to the beauty shop, lol??? RM Ummm......yes, but I had a couple of Hot Wheels cars in my pocket like you told me to do. It does help. You know what's funny is my wife gets a kick out of finding new colors for me to use. That stuff once thinned sprays sooooo nice! I also found how to make a homemade acrylic thinner using distilled water, 90% iso alcohol, and a flow improver that has really made a difference in the acrylics I use. But I use lacquer almost all the time now.

You sure have a talent for building bodies Jeff, they all look great!!! Thanks Greg. Trying hard to improve in all areas. I am working hard on my air brush application. Your paint and fades are nothing short of beautiful. Have not tried fades yet, but they are not too far away. I'm just not good enough with my application yet to try. The colors that you put together look great.

Trackmate DP3000HO timing system arrived yesterday. Computers in the Engineering office at work got upgraded and I was fortunate enough to come away with one of them. This afternoon was spent wiping the hard drive and installing Win 10. This computer will be running the timing system. Everything is ready to go except lighting for the additional sensors. I currently have IR emitters mounted in gantry's at the start and finish line. I don't think I want gantry's all the way down the track. Not sure what the solution is yet, but I want to keep it simple. Looking forward to getting this all installed and set up. That will come between house projects and after I finish tuning for the upcoming race.

Looks great Jeff and very familiar. As I mentioned in the PM I use track lighting for my sensors but I am considering putting the IR emitters over all the sensors on my track with sensor 7 locations but the staging may be covered by 1 set eliminating one set of the emitters. I think you will like the timing setup once you get it working. If you need any help please ask as I ran into a few problems when I set mine up and it was tough getting help from TrakMate.

Thursday night test n tune at Bear Creek Dragway......shots from the rail! Several cars showed up to get ready for the upcoming Classic Bracket race at Blacktop Raceway.
The Dream Crusher and GTX PSO cars were out making some hits.......
.......and the turbo Doorslammers had a run off after some tuning sessions to see who would go up against SKR when he comes into town with his Pro Mod.
The Spellbound twin turbo Chevy Biscayne will be the the lucky car to take on the man from Colorado .
We even got to see the Pro Stock bike make a few hot passes down the strip. Hoping we have something for Eagle's bike.
First race of 2017 is getting close and I'm getting excited. Good luck to all the racers!

Next project in the Angry Jeff garage is a Superjet 1985 Monte Carlo Pro Mod that I have added a blower to. It originally comes with a cyclone scoop. Kiwidave just recently posted the same body that he is doing a street version of. This one is ready for final wet sand and then paint. Not sure on colors or schemes yet. This car will also make it to Ebay.

I have been gathering material and hardware for the new Trackmate DP3000 timing system I will be installing. With the new system there will be (3) or (4) new sets of sensors....depending on what I end up going with. The prestage sensors should be covered by the start line gantry IR's, but I needed a light source for the others. I didn't want to build gantry's all the way down the track, but I also did not want spotlights either. Not that there is anything wrong with either one of those, just my preference. I was looking around and stumbled onto these IR spotlights for night security cameras (12vdc @1a)(20m range). These were the right price at less than $7 ea. and size. The picture shows a 4g car and a 1/2oz. bottle of MM for scale. I have not tested these yet, but I don't know why they would not work. This will provide IR light for the sensors and be invisible to the naked eye....perfect if they work out. I plan on mounting them to my existing fluorescent track lights and will wire all in series with thermostat wire. Using an old computer power supply to power them. 12vdc tap will support 17a.........way more than I need and it was free. Regular phone type 12v adapters were available at around $5 ea. Ebay has a bunch of these listed. Most are from China. These came from the USA. I will post test results as soon as I have a chance to rig something up.

interesting. I look forward to your findings. If they work then lights out drag racing could take place? I still have my cheap tracking light set up on my track, not too bright and there are 2 dimmer settings. They have worked flawlessly since I built this track. Keep us posted, I hope it works. nitroslots.com/thread/3466/pikes-peak-dragway?page=3
