Thanks Robert. It's me more than anything. I like the hardness of the acrylic clear, but it doesn't flow out or look as deep as I would like it to. It just looks thin to me. I have discussed the 2 part automotive clears with a few people and you get the best of both worlds there....hardness and depth. With that comes harsher chemicals...etc, but I am already set up for that.

I've been bouncing all over in the last few months with various projects....some voluntary and some involuntary. This is one that I have been waiting to start for awhile. I know this is not a slot car and I won't speak on this too much, but I know there are some members that will appreciate this. This is my 1964 Chevy C10. It has sat now for over 10 years and I'm finally ready to give it the motor it has always deserved. Nothing special.....just a small block 350 built for approx. 350hp. That's all I wanted as it will be driven around town and often. This truck was bought by my grandfather brand new in Kerens, Texas and has been in the family ever since. I drove this truck all through High School and am extremely proud and fortunate to have it. It was my daily driver in New Mexico for several years before moving back to Texas. So for the next few months I will be bouncing between 1/1 building and 1/64 . Currently I am in the process of assembling the engine and purchasing parts. That will be followed by a transmission rebuild and lots more upgrades later on. I hope to be driving it by April.

Looks nice Jeff. Reminds me of some of my past projects. I was always fooling with some motor or other. I have avoided doing it since I retired as the cost of racing is out of my reach now. A street project is more affordable for sure. Have fun with your project. The 350
Chevy motor is a great platform for a motor and 350hp will make the truck fly.

Nice truck. Looks like something you can take pride in, especially having been your grandfather's. Do you have a 1/64 version of it?

Thanks Dave and Bill. Budget is dictating the build more than anything, but I didn't want anything too wild anyway. You are right Dave, the truck is going to run very well. I don't think I will have any complaints. I may go with a better set of heads later this year if things go well. Disc front brakes will come before that though. Brake system on this truck is factory and antiquated. Bill no doubt I am super proud to have the truck and I do have two 1/64 truck bodies that I will be putting together to make mine. You know I had to make my own . Thanks for the good word guys! We all appreciate anything hot rod on 4 wheels no matter what size it is.

Great story of the history JJ. Your doing right by keeping a family heirloom alive. Your gonna need A/C in the Lone Star State bud.

Thanks Vince. I have been determined not to let this truck become one of those pieced out garage projects that never gets done. It is important that it lives again. My dad at one time had a "Montgomery Ward" ac unit in the truck. It will probably have ac again, but I will be more than happy to sweat as long as Im able to drive it...lol. I will just have to go faster to stay cooler.

The first 52 Chevy Street truck is out of the mold. Everything looks good. Now it's time for the Pro Mod version .
