Jeff yes my 4G cars I’ve been using the adjustable traction mags. My first ones I did was pretty much like how you did yours. The last ones I did I used a solid piece of round styrene drilled and taped it all the way through and used a set screw with the magnet super glued and I’m able to use a Allen wrench to adjust it from the top. I don’t know the sizes and dimensions but will post later if anyone is interested ? Rick I'm interested . I thought they were your cars Rick. I did not and don't want to take all of the credit for the idea or design. I was going off of memory of what I remembered and engineered it as I went. First set I had to play around with......second set installed much easier. I thought it was a great idea the first time I saw it, but have not tried to duplicate till now. If I may ask......how or what are you using to bond the styrene to the chassis? I ended up using JB Weld. It definitely has the best strength but takes forever and a day to cure. Thanks. This set up as it sits in the pictures weighs 1 gram less than a stock AW 4 gear chassis . This is how I did the last adjustable traction mags for my 4G cars. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr I started with a piece of round .163 solid styrene about .180 long drilled it all the way through with a .077 drill taped it with 4-40 tap. I used a 4-40 X 1/4 long set screw and super glued a stock AW T mag to the end of it. I roughed the chassis and rod at the gluing points and glued it first with super glue then I used 5 minute epoxy. I used JB weld 5 min and 5 min plastic epoxy and both worked fine. I even tested with just the super glue and never had no issues. But to be safe I added the epoxy. The only draw back is you cant adjust it with the body on. I do all my testing with the body off to save the bodys. I found myself making over a hundred runs on one car in a session and thats a lot of hits on a body. The pictures arent very good but you can get a idea of how to mount them. I only use one T mag and its been plenty. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr

There are also a multitude of different size and strength neo dot magnets on Ebay that may better fit this modification. I used the stock AW only because it is what I had on hand. They are a little on the big side to fit in the space in front of the rear wheel. A smaller magnet would work better. I am super happy with the modification I've done. I am able to dial in the amount of downforce versus speed. Pretty easy mod. Makes testing different tire sizes EASY AS PIE!
Thank you Rick for sharing your mod! How is the slotted chassis for the rear axle holding up for you? I add the epoxy for the same reason....backup. The super glue works pretty good once it sets up good, but I don't trust it. First car I used a 30 minute epoxy and the second I used JB Weld.

My Aces Wild was the first one I did and I bet it has well over 150 passes on it (I would have to look up the records on it)and I have the original crown gear still in it. I used Eagles design and the How To he posted was it right on and easy to do. Thank You Eagle for that. And my new favorite super glue is the Gorilla brand with the brush. The epoxies I've been using is the JB Kwik Weld it sets in 6 min and they have a JB Plastic weld that works really good that sets in 5 min. I hate waiting Rick

Nuthin' but Comp builds! Everything is built and ready to tune. I've made baseline passes with all of the new builds except one MT chassis. I have one extra 4g chassis, but all the rest will be going to Washington in August. Now it's time to get the track completely cleaned up and ready for some serious test sessions. Also need to get all the Mustang bodies mounted to the MT chassis properly, decide what Gasser and Doorslammer bodies I'm running, and get the new Mustang 4GO body painted. I'm getting pumped for the race!!

I have three MT Mustang bodies including my PSO car that I am remounting on the chassis so that they will sit lower. I have done a lot of 4 gear post and saddle, but have not done many of the MT type bodies. There is a tutorial somewhere here on the forum that I was digging deep in my failing memory to remember. First one is done and it wasn't too bad. I like the way it looks. I narrowed the stock rear rims to get them inside the wheel wells. I would need to go to a very narrow aftermarket rim to be able to drop the rear down lower. Not doing that right now....but maybe later . Two more bodies to go.

It's final test night for the Doorslammers. Here are some shots from the rail.
The Bounty Hunter nitrous Mustang is the new 4GO body and is making it's first runs down the track. It rides really nice on the 4 gear chassis. The Shaker Vega is also laying down it's first runs.
The Hillbilly Hearse is going to make a showing in Washington. This an early Hairy Canary body. It is eager to lay down some passes at Good Times! The Chevy Luv is not racing, but is getting a tune up. No rocketships in this group unfortunately. But the 4GO Mustang is strong enough to run with the top of the list. Shaker Vega blew the crown, so that's how the night ended. It will get repaired.

Hauler left this morning bound for the Northwest. Here are a few more shots from the rail during final testing of the Gassers, Nostalgia Pro Stock, and PSO cars Wednesday night. Getting super excited for the race. There are no stand outs in my cars, but I hope to be competitive. Good luck to everybody!!
These are my Road Warriors and a couple of my favorite cars in the box. They have both made many runs down other Nitroslots member tracks.

Next few projects have pulled into the AJR garage. I am looking forward to these....but I think I say that everytime . The Turbo Fox body Mustang and '57 Chevy are both 660slots.com 4g castings. A couple of beauties!! I have something special planned for the Mini Cooper that I've been wanting to do for awhile. That project will be a little more involved than just paint. I think it's going to be pretty cool, but let's see if I can pull it off. The Cooper sits on an AFX or SG+ chassis and came from Hilltop Speedway. Thanks Randy.

The 57 Chevy is one of my all time favorites. My wife had one when I met her.

Got to spend some time on track maintenance today and decided to deal with my tired and worn bullet catcher. It's made out of foam board so I knew it wouldn't last forever. It's taken a beating from cars and humidity and is looking pretty worn. Time for a rebuild. I utilize both foam board and chip board for my track buildings and backboard during races. If taken care of, it will last a long time. New bullet catcher will be done with foam board, but I will do a better job than on the original. I thought some out there might be interested.
The old bullet catcher looking worn.
The old box relied on foam for the sides. The new one is completely enclosed all the way to the wall.
Finished box except for some decals and track signage. Materials used.....foam board, hot glue, and foil tape. I'm all about using materials I have on hand and I got a bunch of foam board a few years ago.

Looks good Jeff and should keep some of the Cars from leaving the scene. Bet it still won't catch some of those tires that escape into the unknown.

Outstanding layout!
I wish I had a little more space on each side of my track. Mine is against a wall in the garage. Anyone know of place where they make grandstand & race relative wall decals? This way I can get a little scenery.
