Excellent work as always Jeff.It goes without question that a white or color matched back ground is needed for vibrant decals. Here is a method I made mention a while back but never got to try.Try to double print decals on the same sheet. Run through the printer twice. That may build up enough color to show up on the color coat. One other thought I had was to print an off white base such as Navajo white. Then print a top layer with the desired color over the off white.Again double printing. Hope this makes some sort of sense.

Jeff Looks awesome in the pictures you can't see the white line and what you did to the lettering on the truck really made it stand out from before. Very Nice !!

Gonna have to give that technique a try, dang Jeff, that looks really good! Thank you Rick and Gale. Gale in the pictures you can see where I painted the edge, but once the clear goes on you wont be able to see any of that. It will blend the paint and the decal. There will be a little bit of texture but no more than the decal edge. That can be delt with several different ways. The urethane clears that I have been speaking of lay down deep and do a good job of flowing out and hiding the edge. Sometimes a little color sanding and reshooting the clear is needed. It depends on what you want. You never see a decal edge on Rick's or Randy's cars. That is the result I'm trying to achieve.

It does make perfect sense and I want to try both ways and see what the results are!

Another ongoing project at AJR. A late 60's Chevy Suburban. This is actually the basecoat for the flames. The main part of the body will be purple. I thought about leaving it like this, but that would be too easy. Let's see how it turns out?? I have a vision ........

Got the second of two chassis built for a customer. This one is a 4g Super Comp build (not built to NTRA rules). Poly motor magnets, Dash 4lam 4ohm armature (not legal for NTRA SC), Wizzard E81 brushes, braids, shunts, Jag DR-1 rear rims and Viper razor front end. Baseline set up to start. I will be tuning these over the next few days. I have removed the poly motor magnets from the Unlimited and installed some Neos. These things are crazy strong. Let's see how the perform and if the gears will hold up. Also added a front top plate clip for some more strength. I may need to do something with the gap where the body tab used to be due to chassis flex with the neos.
4g Super Comp
4g Unlimited

Al I don't remember where those came from. I ordered them for this purpose I remember but it had to have been on a tip. It does look like a G+ clip.

I did a quick clean of the track and made a couple of runs. Nothing serious...I just could'nt wait. The Unlimited is expectedly going to need more tuning time to get everything dialed in. Initial runs have it slowing to a .49ET. I'm not too concerned about that yet because the motor sounds really strong and it winds up nice. Tires are way too small and it's lighting them up all the way. Not glued to the rim either. The Super Comp car spun the pinion at the hit. Faulty soldering . That's why we test. More to come...
