Been working on one of the altered Corvette dragsters from the same divorced axle series as the Cuda and Pinto. Man, is it ever brittle. One good shot in the catch box and it will explode! Probably should have just saved it for resin casting.
The chassis was rusted real bad. Broke off one of the front axle mounts trying to remove the axle.

This body is WBJ's and will go back to him once I do the mold. I told him that I would not put it on anything faster than a Super Stock if it's going to be raced because of that reason. All of the bodywork should be fine, but the pillars will be delicate. If you get a chance would you post a pic of that Corvette? I'm not sure I know which one that is. I only knew of the Pinto, Cuda, and the Vega.

Here are pics of the Corvette altered/gasser. Aurora made them in red, white, and blue, or black and yellow, or orange and purple. 0B56FE2D-139B-4BEC-A111-56022E0DBAAA by Bill Le, on Flickr You can see the damage to the front axle mount. One wheelie wheel was missing, so I removed the other and filled the holes B7C4BEE5-A4F8-4268-A9FE-06330ECCC630 by Bill Le, on Flickr Was getting this ready to send to the UK for a match race with Crazy and another racer. Having second thoughts though. Andy has a very short track. Do you think this body would be a good resin casting candidate?

I didn't realize they were from the same run of cars though. Yes that body would make an excellent casting candidate.

I'm a little behind on posting. Jeff I will look and see if I can find any of the wheelie/wheel bumpers for that Cuda I did years ago. If I find any I'll send you some. I cast the Corvette many moons ago and then re did it to look more like The Beach City Chevrolet car and there was a few others that used that same body. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Bill I cast the Life Like Nomad last year and used the back half and the front end of my 57 Pro Mod to make the Nomad Pro Mod that's almost ready to mold. Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr And the 55 Hot Wheels Chevy Gasser I did years ago too. When I get a chance I will dig out these molds and see if any of them are any good ? Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Awesome stuff, as always. Really like your rendition of the Beach City Vette. Was considering buying one of the Lifelike Nomads aka GoMad, but decided the $100 price tag was too much, especially when you consider that I have yet to cast a single car. Already have a few boxes of die cast resin casting candidates, waiting for me to “get around to it”. Rick, you have so many cool resin bodies. I’ll bet if you were to open a resin body store, you would have enough work to keep you busy full time.😎

Untitled by rick williamson, on Flickr Hey Rick thank you! I think you sent me two or three of those. I know one went on my Cuda but I'll be darned if I can find the others. It's not like me to misplace specialty stuff like that and I would have made a mold of my own if I only had one left. So as of right now it's a mystery....I've looked everywhere. Man I miss your stuff!! Like Bill said you always have super cool castings and customs! Those are all beauties!

I sent you a lemon and you're making lemonade. Nice work! Hey Wally..... No complaints here. It's gonna be some good lemonaide. She's coming around pretty nicely. Bodywork on the hood is in progress and the roof is set other than some detail work. Been working on the Dodge Avenger Pro Mod as well. Almost have that one ready to mold.

Down to the last block and sand on the 2010 Avenger Pro Mod then into the mold box. Lots of room in the back for bigger tires on this one. I'm looking forward to having 4 new castings at AJR then I will start remolding some of my old castings. Some of those molds are getting old and losing their detail. Still have the Pro Mod '69 Mustang to do as well. Almost forgot about that one......
