I have gotten behind on updating the track records here so I sat down and did that today. All of the records in red have been since 2019. Very impressive! It is easy to see how the bar keeps being elevated. There were only two new Classes added out of all the new records. Several of these are extremely stout passes! I thought it might be of interest to everyone so I pulled it out of the archives and posted it here. They are only recorded during organized events and they have to be backed up by another run that is + or - 1%. So there was another blistering run that went with all of these !

Very interesting. I have not looked at my track records for a while. Will have to do so.

I took the day to sit down and work on some cars. I haven't touched anything since the last race of 2021. My List cars need some tuning and one of my 4g Unlimited blew up (gears) at the last meeting in October. I started a 4g build last year with the new aluminum top plate but had issues and did not get it done in time. Spent most of the day working through problem after problem with that car and finally have something to work with now. My org/wht dragster got a new hotter bullet in it. Made a few successful 26v launches with no issues. I'm hoping to have a contender.......but that bar was raised by Gnome and Hairy Canary in October.

I think I finally have my 4G Unlimited builds ready for some tuning. Hopefully I can get that done without breakage. Breakage is frustrating but it has been a part of this Class since it's inception. We are finally at a point where there are parts available to get the job done. The records at Bear Creek have dropped significantly in the last two runnings of the Unlimiteds. It is not for the faint of heart for sure. I am running one of my gear set ups and one with the aluminum top plate set ups. Haven't run either for an ET yet but I'm going to try and get that done this weekend .

I have tried my 4GU at 20 volts but not 26. Ran decent but not the fastest, I figure attrition will play a factor in that class. I had to use an 18-tooth brass crown gear as that is what I had. Will probably lead the race to the 330 where it starts to fall flat. Please send the pieces that fly off back in a bag. Thanks, Dave

Opening up the paint booth today. It's been waaaay too long....shameful. I am running the new Studebaker body on the new Unlimited chassis and it needs a paint job and these will be the colors. Santee has some great lacquer colors and sheen. Also doing some ET testing on the Unlimiteds and maybe the List cars.

I continue to have problems with the aluminum TP setup. My gear mesh is either too loose or too tight. There is no in between. About ready to stop with that one and beef up my other car (blue/wht FED) with my gear plate. My org/wht FED ran faster than I've ever gone. It was not a record run, but it was close. Running an Eagle Racing hot wind and my gear plate in that one. It's a contender.......of course as long as it doesn't break. That thing sounds like an inline when it winds up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed......

I found another pit box (tackle box) at the flea market a couple of weeks back. I have outgrown my main box and need some more car storage, etc. I am a bit of a sticker freak and have a ton of them just waiting for this occasion !

This is my main box that I use. I originally wanted one of the wooden type boxes but settled on this one after seeing Eagle's that is similar.
Does anybody have any pics of their pit boxes they would like to share? We did a thread awhile back and it was cool to see the different ideas.

Next project in the booth at Angry Jeff Racing is a Stock '69 Mustang Mach I. This one is going to be black on black with some subtle highlights of some sort. I have several different types of pearl and metallic powders for the clear coat that I haven't used in awhile. Going to pick one of those and give it a dusting. Will see how it turns out. Still working on the Pro Mod version of this body. Hope to have it completed by the 2022 Texas Nationals.

Mustang looks slick just as is. Going to look killer in paint.
I was hoping you were going to open up a drawer in the pit box. I'm going to find that thread. Thanks for sharing.

Been curious about those Pearl and metallic powders. Would you be willing to share the processes with us, once you get to that point? Figured you would mix it in the clear but have no idea about how much to use, which needle sizes to use in the airbrush etc. Certainly would enjoy seeing the end result as well.

Yes Bill I will definitely share the process, but I am no expert. They were given to me and I have used them a couple of times. I will send you some of what I have so you can play around with them too.

Bill I’ve experimented with some pearl powders. And I’m not no expert either. I think I got gold and silver from House of Kolor ? Got the finest they made. It seemed to work best mixed with clear. It doesn’t take very much and it all depends on how much sparkle you want ? And I used the same needle in my airbrush that I normally paint with and don’t ask me what that is cuz I don’t know😁 maybe a coarser powder might take a different needle ?
