Brain F, should have put this in last post.
1/16" OD brass tubing can be drlled to size and soldered onto shaft. Have done this on LL can. Don't remember drill size off-hand. Can get it if you need.

Peter,I believe the shafts are 1.5. A standard pinion from a G+ goes right on. I 'm going to try a new arm in it,different crown, and put a new end bell on it. I need to check and see how true the tires are too. The only problem with changing a bunch of things is that you don't know what worked and what didn't. Guess I'd better get to work on that new track!

Hey all, Got heli-motor wired up and went backwards. Cut, switched, and re-soldered leads. Flipped over backwards (13v's). Maybe just has backward genes. Weighs 20.8g's with no body or front wheels. Thought weight and distribution would help (about twice the lentth of typical inline arm). Will try traction magnets in front, like little birdy told me (thanks T). Will get back with results. Looks like I might be doing this on existing FED also. ........................................................PC

Thinking about the front t/mags and downforce. Got me wondering about a way to know how much downforce is needed. Thus being able to avoid or minimize the overkill that would be involved in just finding a mag, or half that would do the trick. Think the bolt/washer way of matching mags could work. If you put a screw through bottem of chassis, fastened w/nut. Then stacked washers on it till front stays down. Washers, nut, and bolt could be weighed. Or if no scale is to be had. It should be easy to go through magnets to see what will hold the weight needed. Should exert the same amount of force needed............ I think.

Tried different mags and locations last night to keep front of heli-experiment on track. Only thing to work so far is a dot mag right on backside of both pick-up shoes. May be only way, without additional assembly of sorts to hold mag or magnets close enough to be effective..........................PC

I don't know what body your using Peter, but on mine with a Hairy Canary body I had a magnet mounted under the front wing. If I can find some magnets that will fit in the can motor with the new arm and gears I might need it again, maybe.

Hey Tom, going to try one under wing on FED. Been trying to avoid any more mags, don't think it can be. Put magnets on backside of pick-ups for heli-car. Now I got real bad wheel hop. .............................Peter

Took AW traction mags out, cut down retaining ring to leave top section (w/hole). Glued larger rare earth in place. Hopefully extra strenght will do the trick, and keep heli-car grounded............. Might give this a shot on FED if it seems to help heli-car. Will test later, when time permits................... PC

Magnet switch worked, rare earth keep it down. On/off with control spun tires for 15", went to Doug's. Left like a shot and disintegrated pinion and half of crown teeth. 13v wallwarts, each time. Got to get metal gears for any chance of taking 27v. Alsooo, lookin for a volunteer. Need one of our racemasters (with 27v pwr), willing to aid my sick mind. And get it on video (really am starting to think there's something wrong with me). Should be entertaining, just have no idea what will happen. Will run at 13 with new gears then 22v to see if things hold. ..........................PC

Hey Jeff, was hopping for someone that might want to see what happens when 27v's say hello. And be willing to find out on their track ! Do not have 27v supply, so have no way of knowing what outcome might be. Thought everyone might get a few laughs out tbis. Figure one of three things will happen. One, it could be a total bust. Jump off line and only go 5mph. Two, it could make a pass and be real fast (my personal preference for the three scenarios). Or three, it could blow-up, go up in smoke, in flames even. Whatever might happen, I'd really like to see. Thats why I, asked about the video. And everybody could get some kicks out of it reguardless what it does. Even if it's a turd, they can laugh at me. Will get metal gears in as soon as funds permit, and get back to it. Don't know if I can get it together before crew leaves for Bear Creek (one of our nations finest testing facilities), but I will try. Crank up the camera if your willing buddy. I'm hopping for motion, whatever the outcome. ...........................................Peter

Got the gears in and soldered pinion to shaft. Had to remove motor from chassis, to do so. Did not want to melt small thin walls of gear pocket. Going to try plastic first for the crown. Have steel pinions in unlimited road cars with plastic crowns, so going to give it a shot before going to sil/brz crown. Be a few days to get back together, one of a number of ongoing builds. T-can with b/barrels and MRT 3OHM is together and seems likely to be fast. Kept chassis low to keep t/mags as close as possible to rails. Never used MRT arm, new to me. Has anyone tried these arms ? Trued, balanced, and wrapped 14.-, frrom Lucky Bobs. 6 and 3 ohmers for N/S and E/W brush arangments.

There is more there. I think TQ for that race was running that arm with 277 mags....super fast. I missed your last post.....just now saw it. If you've got the car ready go ahead and send it. Mr. Video ( Robert ) will be there with his regular and slow motion camera. I have a 30v power supply. We can get it done for ya!

Hey Jeff, guess the MRT's are prettty good. #'s 5 & 1 sounds impressive. Have not yet put one in MM/PS. Picked up two, first had to go in LL T-can since the arms arrived right after getting b/barrels into bulkhead. Took one out of the package fot closer look and it started talking to me. Saying , put me in I'm ready put me in. So I had no choice, always listen to my arms when they talk.
In chassis wired up and ready to go. Sounds like a good combo, when revving-up. Have to get to Doug's, and compare with "Green FED"
Was trying to get heli-car ready in time, but have doubts about time left after set-backs (gears shredding, wait for new, dis-assembly, and whatever is yet to come). Also, body is yet to be fabricated. Started gathering parts for body but have to re-assemble chassis first. Before laying out body parts and getting started on assembly.
