Thanks to all involved there at Drag City for putting on a great race and to Kim for the great coverage. I'm going to have to try a metal gear in my FED.

I wanna know what kind of gear Ninjatek used on his F.E.D. and if it went through any gear changes for the event.

what a day guys.... Congratulations to all the winners! Thanks to all our sponsors: Hairy Canary, Eagle Racing, NTRA, R/T Racing, Scale Auto, Lucky Bob's, SKR and Nitro Slots. I'll be posting prizes later today. I went to bed at 2:30am and was wide awake at 5:30am so I'm a little beat. I'd like to thank all the racers for allowing us to run their cars at Drag City USA and for hanging in there with us throughout this event. I'd also like to thank Diane & Rick (DCU Owners) for making this event possible and for their great hospitality every time we race there. Thanks Dan for all the help and for riding the wheelies during intermissions. Last but certainly not least.... Thanks to my wonderful wife Kim. If it wasn't for her, we'd still be there running the race Sam

I wanna know what kind of gear Ninjatek used on his F.E.D. and if it went through any gear changes for the event. not sure, we'll have to let him answer that. I can tell you that only one car had a gear replacement of a crown gear only because they sent in an extra gear. Ninja's and JJ's cars held up great. They both sounded good all the way through eliminations and finals. Still lots to learn with these big powered cars as far as gears go. It looks like there is hope for running strong magnets and big powered armatures in the 4 gear chassis with all the developments coming out of Texas. This was only the third race and there is still lots to learn however, I do have a good feeling about the future of this class.

I feel like my F.E.D. cars are like John Force's early years "mismatch parts thrown together and hope it works" LOL

This class certainly gets my vote for continuing. They can definitely be fast! I lost some time going to the bigger diameter metal gear. I feel pretty certain I can get both cars back into the .4's, but I couldn't do any testing because of all of the gear failures. New ideas/gears for the top plate are already in the works from what I've been told. I know I will be brainstorming. The times between my track and Drag City were not that far apart....that's good to know. There are some awesome F.E.D.'s being built and I hope it continues. The class will run again in July....lots of time for more innovation. Also really enjoyed the MM/PS build. I did not do that well, but this was my first time and I hope to see this class run again as well. Great job everybody!!

I started construction of a new FED this morning actually. Had an idea and wanted to see if it would work, Seems like it will. We'll find out this summer. I don't think that most of the current FED bodies will work on this one with the exception of a couple of Hairy Canary's. I'll have to get one ordered as well as a new arm, tires...

We had such a great time! It was a true team effort. How cool is it that I got to see racers that have been together for a long time to meeting racers I've never met. Everyone's cars look great! Rick & Diane are wonderful track masters and always show such great hospitality. Dan is always consistant. Sam did a great job organizing. I wish I could have taken video to share of all the smack talk between proxy racers and the shinanigans of the night. A big thank you to everyone who participated and our sponsors. I'm looking forward to the next race!

Wow........ just looked at the last part of pics (couldn't stay up any more last night), WHAT happened to my car ! looks kind of twisted....lol. Doesn't matter, hoping a eye witness might supply info needed to keep on track. Also really curious what kind of car won the MM/PS, gears, tire size?

WOW! We've never seen this before. Both cars launch! Pceng takes a hard left into the Christmas tree, bounces back, hops over the wall and takes out a safety crew member. Slot Father motors onto a .5825 Peter, yeah this was a wild one. It launched and took a hard left and slammed into the aluminum tree stand, bounced all the way back and ended up where you see it. Looks like the body only turned and that no other damamge was done. I'd lower the traction magnets a little bit. The car seems to be pretty fast. I'd like to see it when it gets some traction. The MM/PS finals winner was a Tomy Super G car, Gearing 8/22 and tires look to be around .452"-456". SST's car is set up pretty much the same.

Just finished reviewing all the posts from the race as I was on the road most of the day heading back from Florida. Sorry I could not attend the live feed. A little disappointed on how my cars ran but I did get to race and will now have to work a little harder on my builds. Thank you very much for all involved in making this yet another fine Nitro experience!
Time to get Maple Grove Drag Strip ready for some fun. Hope to see you soon!
