Peter I talked to the lady at Wizzard the other day about the green wire I was asking her if there was any difference between there's and slottech she said they both ordered theirs from the same place so I'm guessing they don't do anything except balance and true them. Guess they come already done from the way I took it.

Could not wait till morning , soldering is done......... I'll wait till tomorrow incase anybody else wants to get in.
Lewis, not sure about parts supplies. Have both type arms. Visible difference right away in comm. Will look at both again and get back.

No prob Peter I was just quoting what she said I don't know either way I have been running slottech green wire. I have been thinking of ordering a wiz green wire to try and see if there is a difference but if you have both maybe you can save me $$$ and compare the two to see which is better ohm wise

Couple of observations about 34g going on pancake. I measured bundle of wire before stripping arm. They were .150 top to bottom. 90 turns measured .165. I was feeling I should get as much wire on as possible. Plate drops into place. Looks as if it might touch wire bundles in a couple of spots. But another 10 turns of wire is possible. That would be maybe another half a foot of wire. Had rolled 18' of wire onto spool and had exactly 3' left (I do pancake or inline continuous). All three poles ohm'd exactly the same. Think if I wanted to go lower in ohms I would use less wire. Don't se going any lower in guage on pancake. But it might be done maybe 33.......... 30g is chassis melt.

Lewis, Pretty sure both ohm the same or close to 2.7 maybe 2.6. And both use the same guage wire........ think it is 36g. Without removing from cars......... comm on Slottech is bigger ..mmmm.. beefier. Stacks are also longer than Wizard. Guessing difference would be in torque. Edge to Slottech.

Lewis, Should have mentionrd difference in comm is visible , no way to measure while in chassis. Got tip of calipers onto stacks...... Slottech messured at least .05 greater. Disassembly would be needed for more accurate measuring.

Slottech claims their commutators are superior. Probably have more copper for more reliability.

For those new to rewinding 3 pole arms here is a bit of information that may help?
First off establish what you want the armatures target resistance to be. Example: 5 ohms
Take your desired target resistance and half the value: Example: 2.5 ohms
Add the two figures together: Example: 5 + 2.5 = 7.5 ohms
You have just now figured out how much resistance you need to put on EACH pole of armature!! 7.5 ohms per pole
More to follow!!
Have fun guys!

Arm I wound came to 0.8 ohm. Alan, was right on target when he said 0.87. Meter only goes to tenths, so would not show 9 unless it was reached.
Ohm ratings on arm is deceiving. We check ohms by taking readings pole to pole. But what is actually being read is resistance around whole arm.
Thanks for info , Alan !

Yes I see what you are saying. Never even thought of it. It's a closed loop.

Okay fellows serious about rewinding, just having fun. The new N3 build for the Modern Funny Car allows custom inline winds with timing. I don't know about y'all but it sounds like fun to me. The N3 also allows factory arms. So you will also being going against the best factory winds. So build two cars one factory and one with your custom. That is just in case your custom does not fair to well.....
