RACE FORMAT AND SCHEDULE
Welcome to the 2015 NTRA Winter Nationals. We are at the early spring time of year here and had an overnight snow/ice storm come through that has put us behind schedule. Sorry for that. Track temps. will be around 75deg for the duration of the event. This will be the projected racing format and schedule for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. All cars have been pre qualified. Results will be posted before each class is run followed by the first round ladders. Cars were qualified by making one run in each lane and taking the best time of the two. We are utilizing a single elimination seeded ladder for all classes (printyourbrackets.com). We will check cars, pick ups for cleaning, and clean tires prior to each run. We only oil as needed. Any special instructions supercede any of our normal procedures. We have two race teams that have yet to arrive, but with the weather delay it should not be a problem for them to get to participate in the race.
Thursdays schedule: Due to weather, skeleton crew, and late arrivals, we will start with Pro Street Eliminations followed by the Finals. We will do our best to get through it.
Fridays schedule: Friday should be more of a regular format. It will start with a recap of Thursdays action followed by Stock Eliminations and Finals. Nostalgia Top Fuel Eliminations and Finals will be up after that. Depending on how event is flowing.....Pro Stock Motorcycle Eliminations and Finals will follow N/TF.
Saturdays schedule: Any Eliminations not previously concluded will be completed followed by closing comments.
That's about it. Thanks for sending your cars. Lots of points and track records are up for grabs this weekend. We've got some work to do now. Track is in great shape...lanes are running even. Sooooo let's get the show on the road. Good luck to all racers this weekend!!

Top 4 qualifiers were all below the prior track record. sjracer takes track record at this time with a .914et backed up by a .903et. That's how it stands for now. Let's see if that holds up. Here we go.

Race 1 Battle of the 55 Chevy's. Both cars get off the line glued together, but they are also rumblin and stumblin. Nosub's Nomad deslots and hands the win to TGM who improves on his qualifying time. TGM has made it out of the first round. 1.215et to a deslot.
Race 2 ks1933 Charger number 13 qualifier is hoping to take down the number 4 qualifier Chevelle of dave632. He does his job and grabs the holeshot, but it's not near enough. The Chevelle is strong and passes him at the 330' mark and never looks back. Dave is going to the second round. 1.00et to a 1.513et.
Race 3 Darius and his GTX gets out on nosubs Trans Am by a small margin and makes a clean run through the traps. Nosubs second car has trouble like the Nomad and deslots at the 330' mark. That car was only able to get down one time in qualifying due to tire shake. Darius is looking ahead to the second round. 1.106et to a deslot.

Race 7 sjracer's black Corvette gets a .015 holeshot on the number 2 qualifier 68camaro's Camaro and it's just enough for the big upset. SJ get the win by .002 and deslots as he's going through the traps. He makes a huge improvement on his qualifying time. That car barely made through qualifying with baaaad tire shake issues. They seem to have cleared up some. 1.055et beats a faster 1.042et. Great race!!
Race 5 Father and son race team. You know that 68camaro (son) wants to take down dave632 (Dad). Oh man...they both launch hard and 68camaro breaks the beam first but deslots immediately handing the win to the Vega. Dave improves on his qualifying time and has bragging rights for now. .949et to a deslot.
Race6 This race went as it looked like it might....but we just saw what can happen. The number 3 qualifier darius makes a clean run though and puts the number 14 qualifier on the trailer. The Challenger moves on. 1.014et to a 1.881.
Race 7 Battle of the '69 Camaros. Mike11422's Yenko is the better car today and takes down TGM and turns on the win light for the round win. 1.153et to a 1.371.
Lots of cars struggling with the good traction at Bear Creek. It is a sectioned track, but the bite is good. Not as much downforce as some of the continuous rail tracks and I think that could be an issue as well. Something to think about in the future. Moving on to Round 2 after a short beverage break.

You know we normally get started early...blame mother nature. Tomorrow will be an earlier start and a full day of action. Sj's blue Corvette is always a rocketship. If the black one can keep the shake under control, he may be racing himself in the final! The Tennessee racers are going to have something to say about that though.
