"The problem exists with the company and its lackadaisical attitude towards producing anything of substance". "AW needs to concentrate on the quality of what it releases; instead of just releasing as much product as it can, as cheaply as possible".
You put your opinions out in a public forum! Then I'm allowed to also right?

"This is simply a company that produces HO slot cars, nothing more".
This is simply a company that has done more for HO slot car drag racing than any other, ever!!

the anti Auto World harangue, while accepted as allowable because of free speech (which I wholeheartedly support), becomes tiresome. if one can voice opinions on other subjects, please do. I think everyone here is quite aware of your opinion and stance regarding Auto World and their product. I encourage discussion of ideas, products, our hobby and opinions. but one must learn limits to certain behavior. some behaviors can lead into a deep morass of misery

When you come down to it is any other manufacturer making Top Fuel or Funny car bodies? At least they got into the drag racing theme. Which in my opinion is a good thing. If you go to an NHRA event and watch Funny cars or TF Dragsters they are all pretty much the same in appearance with different paint jobs. Never got very interested in those classes because of that despite the quick times. Bikes are the same way, I sure cannot tell one Pro Stock bike from another. I liked the classes that I could identify with. Pro Mod is going the same way but there is still some slight brand identification left there. The early model Camaro bodies they use now look like some giant stepped on them. In the early days the Pro Mods looked like the real thing and Funny cars only had altered wheelbases.

I think there is a deep frustration among the fans of ho slot cars overall out there that desire current cool looking and reliable cars. I also realize it takes considerable effort on the part of any company to make this happen. I commend aw for the reviving of the brand, they have brought a ton of memories to countless slot racers. Its true that the specialty chassis was never fully realized in its original form, and aw did that with the drag racing sets. I'm giving credit where it is due. That being said when they make new stuff and there are a myriad of issues that's a problem. For some of the people on this site, maybe not so much but MAN,I long for aw to be more proactive in this thing they started. Similar to the 1/32 world with companies like slot-it where the owner is on the boards checking in and being a part of the conversation. Its never contentious for slot-it because the dude that makes the stuff is right there to talk to. I bet there would be a lot of happy racers out there if aw had a presence on this board, I know I would. So here is what I'm gonna try, and I ask everyone on this board to join me in inviting Autoworld to join this board. This is the best ho drag board I've seen on the net so it would be the obvious choice for any company that caters to ho slot drag racing. If I and hopefully you guys get no response then I say that aw has no defense for their product. Then to me it is clear we're on our own and can say whatever we want about aw without reservation. I want this to work and I'm hoping against failure so my fingers are crossed that this board can come together to show aw that there is a great opportunity here at NitroSlot to sell more stuff, the motivation for any company.
Here are the number I have, there may be better ones, If anyone knows better contact info please post. thanks

I for one think that is a good idea. I will give a call Monday and give it a try, can't hurt to invite them. Hopefully others will join in and give them a holler. At least they are making drag cars. Personally I have no interest in roundy round and the fact that AW and Aurora before them had some interest in making dragsters and funny cars shows me that at least they recognized that there were guys out there who liked racing that type of car. For that I salute them. I only know of 2 HO companies that made drag style cars, Aurora/AW and Tyco. All the others as far as I know made roundy round type cars. Anybody know of any other manufacturer that made any?
