Been lookin' around here for a while. Lot of great info, builders, painters. But I don't need to tell Y'all that. Here are a few of my cars, hope you like them.
I did this '57 Caddy Pro Mod and 69 Charger Funny Car this week. I use mostly House of Kolor paint, it seems to work with most other brands and types with no ill effects.1 by vintagedirtbikes, on Flickr 2 by vintagedirtbikes, on Flickr 3 by vintagedirtbikes, on Flickr 4 by vintagedirtbikes, on Flickr

Gymi you said that you use House of Kolor paints. Are those lacquer...acrylic...enamel...or all three? We have those all around DFW. I have started using lacquer nail polish with good results. I am really liking it and the range of colors is endless. Also Superjet puts out a great product. He sponsored my race at the beginning of the year and I was glad to have him. Still have a Thunderbird, Firebird, and Monte Carlo of his to build. I love the builds.....keep posting.

J.J. House of Kolor has an unusual makeup but can be cleared with either acrylic lacquer or urethane enamel. Depending on what base you use, they have different chemical makeups. I haven't tried nail polish, but have heard others have had great results with them. I like to use HOK because they seem to work with almost any other paint system without any ill effects. You can shoot them on Dupont, PPG, BASF, Sikkens etc. If you spray most of those other brands over one another, you will get wrinkling and all kinds of other ugly results. I have been painting motorcycles for over twenty years and have learned these lessons the hard way. I like to use PPG clear over my paint because it flows out beautiful. HOK's polyurethane clears like UC35 are very thick and you really have to hot batch it to get a nice flow out. I love Rob's cars too, they are about the easiest to work on out there. I just did a couple of Sam's bodies this week. They are of the same quality as Rob's. Thanks for the compliment and I will be posting more soon.
