Smoky Mountain HO drag race 11/25-27/2016 RESULTS:

Here is the current list order if I have it right:

3. JJWallace
4. Nosubfor3
5. Eagle
6. KiwiDave
7. 79Malibu
8. ECBill

Nosubfor3 has called out JJWallace for the #3 spot, 79Malibu has called out KiwiDave for the #6 spot, Eagle has called out Nosub for the #4 spot.

My car is waaaay off the pace and getting worse. Don't know if there are going to be any more rounds run or not. If there is I would rather challenge Sam for #2 again rather than have to defend the #3 spot. But I know my car has no chance for the win.

All PRO STREET OUTLAW call outs will be run tomorrow AFTER the final class is run.

NOW WE HAVE THE INLINE STOCK ELIMINATIONS:

Once again SKR is the man to beat. We had an upset in the last race, lets see what happens here.




Round 1:

#1 and #2 qualifiers get the first round byes.

First up in eliminations is #3 qualifier 79 Malibu and his brown 57 Vette vs Old Mechanic and his red Dodge. 79Malibu continues to improve his times running a .5835 @ 24.61 over Old-Mech who deslotted but ran a 4.432 @ 18.09 after being put back on track. Needed a wheelie bar on the Dodge.

Next up is Bluesguy with his PT Cruiser vs ECBill and his blue/silver 40 Ford Pickup. Blues gets the win running well with a .6064 @ 19.99 over ECBills .7506 @15.75

Next race, JJWallace with a silver 04 Vette vs KiwiDave and his Stone Woods & Cook Willy's AA gasser. JJ gets the win running a .6542 @ 19.10 over Kiwis .7123 @ 18.48.

Now we have 79Malibu with a brown Dodge vs KiwiDave running a black Plymouth. 79 takes the win over Kiwi with a .6231 @ 21.71 to .7229 @ 17.90

Final race of round 1 finds Nosubfor 3 with both his cars running against each other. The White Firebird takes the win over the red Firebird despite a quicker and faster run by the red car. Win margin was close, .015, as the red car was charging hard at the stripe. Seems a slight hole shot was the reason. Again a reminder both cars are started simultaneously.

Round 2:

A bye is given to the low ET for round one. That was for 79Malibu. First round bye cars will not get any more byes.

First race:

TQ, SKR gets some revenge on Nosubfor3 tearing down the track with a .5594 @ 22.58 over Nosubfor3s .6768 @ 16.71.

Eagle now takes on 79Malibu's brown Dodge with his silver Dodge in the battle of the Dodge's. The silver one is the winner with a .5813 @ 21.17 over .6125 21.71 for the brown one.

Bluesguy and his PT Cruiser is up against JJWallace in his 04 Vette. The Cruiser takes the win .6177 @ 19.88 over .6374 @ 19.71 in a close .0219 win.

79Malibu made a bye run pass and posts his best run of the event with a .5687 at a class topping 25.63. Is there another upset in the making?

SEMI FINALS:


First up in the semi's is SKR with his flying red 57 Chevy Nomad vs Bluesguy, who is doing great for his first ever drag race, running a PT Cruiser. Sam is in the final with a .5603 22.73 over Blue's slowing .7000 @ 16.31. Turns out there was a little tire drag on the PT on this run. The tire is close to the fender and the body must have shifted slightly.

Next up is #2 qualifier Eagle and his silver Dodge vs #3 qualifier 79Malibu and his brown 57 Vette. Eagle took out 79s other car earlier.
In a mild upset 79Malibu takes the win with a .5880 25.44 over Eagles .6135 21.99. Both cars slowed slightly from the previous runs.
The race was close until the strong top end of the 57 Vette pulled away for the win.

FINAL::






SKR vs 79Malibu. Will there be another upset??






Not this time, SKR and his 57 Chevy rocket runs his best time of eliminations with a .5421 @ 23.03 to take the win over 79Malibu who ran a very respectable .5785 @ 25.44. The 57 Nomad took the hole shot and pulled away to the 660' mark when the Vette made a move to catch up but there was not enough real estate and the Nomad took it.
