Here's some more pics and info on those Break In Blocks that will get sent to the Smokey Nats. These were the first 2 attempts. The bottom one, I made a bunch of . They work fine for road course cars but not so good for drag cars. The top one was part of the R&D process and didn't make the grade, didn't need all those adjustment screws and that back shelf. I been using it a lot and it works good. I used a gel CA glue at each end of the conductor and right where the curve leaves the block. Could be a weak link so be aware it could come loose. I was using the other one with out glue. A stock T-jet . A 4 gear chassis. An AFX Magna Traction. A Jag DR-1. As you can see, a chassis with traction magnets shouldn't need the side pegs. A Jag TR-3. And a Viper chassis. I also tested a Super G, Super G+, BSRT and a Rokar. They all hook up. Thanks for the likes and comments on the Smokey Nats thread. G

Yep.......awesome is a pretty good description!! I have wanted a good break in box for awhile. That is better than most that I've seen. Great job on that and I hope to be fortunate enough to get one at Smoky Mountain.

I'm sending 16 to the Smokey Nats and so far there is only 12 people besides me entered, so I'm sure one will be coming back with your cars . The first 16 people get one. If the registration goes over 16 (17), I'll figure sumpthin' out.

Well, there's a small flaw I found today in the break in block, maybe a big flaw, depends on interpretation I guess. I used mine a lot when prepping for the Smokey Nats and didn't have any problems. Of course all that breaking in was done with chassis' that had traction magnets. When HairyCanary posted about the International Meet I dug into my box of pancakes and put a few on the block to see about potential, etc.. Without the traction magnets, the adjustment screws vibrated inward after only about 15 or 20 minutes of running. When I originally tested it with the pancakes, it was for less than a minute . I had some blue medium thread locker and put a small drop on the two screws, put them back in at the height I generally use it at and it is now setting up. I will check tomorrow to see if the screws are still adjustable without messing up the threads in the plastic block. I'll let you all know how it goes. Dang it

A wrap or two of Teflon tape might tighten it up

I didn't try the teflon tape (which I think might be a better solution) but the thread locker I used seemed to work fine. Broke the bond, screwed 'em in & out (they offered reasonable resistance) and then let a T-jet run for about 40 minutes. There was no measurable or visual movement in the adjustment screws.

I tested one today on a few cars. Had no trouble with the screws but the front end lifted on some of the cars losing contact a simple rubber band cured that. I did have to take the flag style guide out of the cars that did not have guide pins. Worked good when running some chassis on it, I think you guys will like them, coming your way next week.
