Thanks for your input think I'll go with switched 0-30 20 amp all ready have battery's and my current power supply runs good, got it from nistalga hobby same as he uses for his store track .the problem with it is that it's set at 19 volts and the classes are all different.the track itself is wired with 3 #12 power taps in the 1/8 mile section of track and all joints are zip railed.

Like Dave said......these cars only use a small amount of amperage, but the more amps that are available the better the cars like it. You should see them run on 2 deep cycle batteries at 27vdc....WOW! Unlimited amps and they flat fly!! If that $157.53 is for the one you want, I would jump all over that. That's a great price. I wish I hadn't looked at it....lol.

So, the new power supply is on it's way, maybe tomorrow?! But I thought I would do some comparison tests on my track the old versus the new. Here's some pics of the current power supply with stock cars. I'll post some times with faster cars later.

Did you do a before and after test on the power supplies with the same cars? All the pictures and times are for my current setup the new power supply should be here tomorrow or sat. I will then set the voltage to 19.01 and run the same cars at different amps. Tried to use bolth pancake and inline bolth stock and modified. Before I run the new power i will wire in a 14 volt afx wall wart and run the cars that will run .

Really appreciate you taking the time to post this! Ya right on man, I've injoyed watching GTS come together myself as well and what a fine job you've done on building and sharing the steps you've taken to get where you're at . Like the balancer alot i use the same thing only not as nice two razors glued to plexiglass. The pinion puller i use is the train wheel puller sandfly referred to i think and could use some file work as well. Will photo bomb it with more of my power supply comparisons
