Ok I'm jumping off the fence. I would like to host a race at motor city raceway the first weekend in November.i would like to run t-jets, 1/8th mile, 18 volts, no traction mags. What's everyone's thoughts. "Woodward style street race"

Mmmmmm sounds interesting, whats woodward style racing?? Woodward Avenue is a street in Michigan that runs from pontiac into Detroit, that whole area is loaded with automotive design and manufacturing and professional racing teams that would end up on the streets late at night .the street lights are laid out on the 1/8th mile .my mustang was built for running the streets Woodward, joy and telegraph, i 275 ..... Woodward ave also hosts what i believe to be the world's largest cruz . So what i meant was big power slick surface who can geter down the street! ! Don't sing it bring it. Lol

I'm IN. details about rules! please. Those are the rules, my only concern is width due to the fact we will be running on tomy track and it's fairly narrow i think the standard set by fray is 1.3125" . The only other rule will be in regards to dropped motor mags i would like to know what everyone else thinks.

? dropped motor magnets? as in cutting the bottom of the chassis to allow the magnets to be closer to the track?
an Aurora Tuff Ones chassis is about 1.130 at the rear wheels. an AFX just a tad wider. consider most FRAY and ECHORR SS cars race on custom tracks with very wide lanes. for a t-jet drag car, I don't see the need in a really wide stance like a car that has to handle in corners.
just my 1.5 scents!

No traction magnets could present some challenges. Most ot the Tjet cars with decent motors and traction will pull the pin out of the slot on the line. Are Autoworld, Johnny Lightning and Dash chassis' ok? Wheelie bars?

Are Autoworld, Johnny Lightning and Dash chassis' ok? Wheelie bars? Yes bill any t jet style would be fine, wheelie bars recommended. The only restrictions are tjet style chassis, no traction mags ,no dropped motor mag and you can be no wider than 1.3125"

The Electrician was here and installed the new starter switch for the track.
The pavers were here too, the first pit stalls are ready!
Here are two of my TJet racers, with the track they will be running on.
Any questions, feel free to ask! Now back to the current build for JJ's race, see you all at Bear Creek Dragway in September!

good choice in remote starter switch, pistol grip. I use two of those an my 1/64 scale 1/4 mile portable track. controllers in the hands of some become damaged. these starter switches are pretty sturdy and can handle a lot of amperage. I see you are using a relay to turn on the current to the track. do you have that on the positive rail (left side rail) or the negative rail (right side rail) ? I have high end controllers with relays installed to cut out the controller at full throttle allowing current to avoid the resistance of lead wiring to the controller. it does subtract thousandths and I have been banned from a few races for using them . LOL always interested in seeing everyone's set ups and track configurations.
