Very cool! I recognize the ol' Cox Ford GT. I used to have the 1/24 Cox Ferrari F1 & the Cox 1/32 Cheetah when in high school. Both inline, not sidewinder. Fun, fun cars to race!

I used to race GP12, INT15, and GP27 cars with chassis like the one in the back. Definitely a glue car!! I would love to have the room in the Dungeon for a Blue King!

Hey Cozee..question. I know you said you were in Illinois..where at? I moved here to south Texas 18 years ago, but grew up around 60 miles south of Chicago. I raced slots all over the Midwest through the '80's and '90's, but in the '90's it was mostly drag (1/24). In the '80's I raced pretty much anything..lol. Was in the USRA, but got tired of the 'politics' and dropped out. I was all over doing model car shows and swaps up there too. Even helped promote a few too. Ron (Bondo)

Ron (Bondo) 60 miles south of the the Windy? You were in or near the Kankakee area I assume. I am a little over another hour south in the Champaign-Urbana area. My 1/24 days was in the '70s to the late '80's after which I got out of 1/24, packed the HOs away, and got into R/C for a time. Cut my teeth on slots at Slot-n-Wing in Rantoul starting 1970. I've raced at Dan's when he was in Momence', Twin City Raceway in Champaign (two huge fiberglass tracks), Panzer Raceway in Rantoul, and Hugh Johnson's place in Champaign which was where I hung out. Went to Bloomington occasionally too. I didn't travel very far to race. About the farthest was Indy or up around the Windy to race HOs.

Up until August of '77, when I went into the Marine Corps, if you frequented Slot-n-Wing, we probably met!

Hmm...Panzer...Dave Gehring? I raced with him too..before he had a track..lol. Yep, Kankakee, actually Bradley. I started in early '80's racing 'outlaw Womps'. I started at Dan's track when he moved it to Bradley from Momence. (might have been the very late '70's, not real sure of the years anymore..lol) Ron (Bondo)

His chassis were works of art! I never got back up to Dan's after he moved. I did get back up to Momence to race R/Cs a couple times.

Gnome that Cox brings back memories. Still have a couple of my old Cox cars from the late 60's. The chassis are magnesium, ahead of there time. I also like the idea of you running Gassers at your race along with the run what you brung T jets. Looking forward to your race it should be fun. Rick
