Video looks great Gale. My Samsung S8 shoots 60fps in regular and 240fps in slow motion. Some phones are shooting a super slow motion and have faster frame rates. I may purchase a Go Pro sometime this next year. I think they have the capability of shooting the faster frame rates with clearer slow motion. By the way.......how did the Thanksgiving 500 go on the road course?

Thanks Jeff! I was dinkin' with the Eken camera yesterday 'cause I had been trying to use it for another project and needed to get some familiarity with it. For me, if I don't use this stuff more often, it's learn all over again . I did finally acquire a newer phone, a Samsung S9. It's supposed to shoot 900 some fps but I haven't dived into that yet. It's at the top of the list for the next couple months though . The Thanksgiving race was great fun, well worth the extra effort I put into it. It was a hit! We never did get around to having any organized round robin racing but it was in use from about 10:00 to 6:30 unless we were eating. Had to pull the plug to get cars back in the garage and needed help getting the track flipped on it's side. Hadn't run some of my cars for over a year or more so was good to get some laps on them.

The S9 will give you what you are looking for with the 960fps super slow motion. I look forward to seeing that. One of these days I will upgrade again. I'm glad the road race was a success, but I knew it would be. When my grand kids show up all they can think about is my cars and the dragstrip. We ran a Bracket race the last time they were here and had some really good reaction time battles.

More goofin' with the Eken camera and the editing software. This one is edited to 15% of original speed, the other one was at 25%.
Both lanes were at 20 volts, the green car is my 4GO car, the yellow 33' Willy's PU (Thanks Rick!) sits on a Jag TR3 GT (box stock) and the 53' Chevy Sedan Delivery (one I'm working on) sits on a regular Jag TR3 (box stock) for now. If one looks real close you can tell how much the wheelie bar helps the 4GO car . Dang, I gotta get my Galaxy S9 goin', that would really help with some tuning, I think.

I like what you are doing with the video work. It is a blast when it comes out right. I got into green screen work etc. and it is a lot of fun. Takes a lot longer to edit than most folks realize. Check out kiwidaves video work in our past races. He did some great work.

I just went back and looked at the slow motion stuff Kiwidave was doing earlier this year. He was using a Samsung S9 and did some fantastic videos. That's where you are going to have fun Gale and that will very definitely be a huge tuning tool. Especially for the start line! I want one now.

Thanks guy's! Yes, Kiwidave's video work is what inspired me to get an S9. Very much looking forward to some time spent foolin' with it. Kiwidave's video work is phenomenal!

Thanks Alpink! Appreciate the kind words. There is just a .04 second window of opportunity to record the footage that one wants to be super slow motion (i.e. 960fps) and so far it's been challenging to get all to sync up at the right time. There is a regular slo-mo at 240 fps and that operates like regular phone video operating procedure, the super slow motion doesn't seem to, so there will be a learning curve.
This print arrived today. It will wind up being a backdrop for the track. It is 5' x 7' and I will be cutting the bottom off a little above the shoreline of the lake and using a horizontal area 2' up from that. It will be mounted along the back of the new pit area. Anyways, I got this off ebay for $13 which includes state sales tax and shipping. It comes from overseas and various printers offer quite a variety of different scenery options. I can't remember for sure what I used for a search term on ebay. It does come all folded up and is why I have it hanging in the upstairs hallway to hopefully straighten out some. It is printed on a real light weight cloth type material. Wanted to pass this along as it might be useful to some.

Nice looking scene. The ones I had ordered came in a roll. The 7' height is desirable.

Wound up steam ironing the chunk of back drop I used. Turned out okay.
Doubt if I'll get the grand stands & snack shack built before the next race but we'll see .
